July 20th, 2009, Category : Family

I walked outside after dinner and before bath time and they were sitting in the front yard.
I didn’t know what they were doing or what they were talking about.
Probably princesses and flowers.
So I ran back inside and grabbed my camera.
Being their father overwhelms me with a sort of love I thought only achievable 80’s Spielberg flicks.
When they heard the click, they turned around and I saw my iPhone in their hands.
They were playing Pocket God.

That is a classic Whittaker family moment…but at least you have a great picture to share a totally romantic made up story someday!

Totally, you could make up some huge sentimental tear jerker to put this photo with. Like a more romantic "caption please" post.

Wow, dude. Ignorance is bliss. I know you still love 'em, but the innocence of the moment is somehow gone. At the same time, they are on the road toward technological prowess, which will come in handy for them as adults. So it looks like a tie to me.

That's what stood out to me, too. I don't think I could pay my girls to sit that close now…although maybe when they were that young…
Enjoy their closeness (even if it's actually sneakiness!) while it's happening. Blessings!

That is an amazing and precious photo! Made my heart skip a beat as I soaked in the sister moment they were having. That is awesome!

Awesome! Beauty and irony make strange bedfellows.
But on the upside, they were having their own bonding moment without any urging from anyone else. Iphone or no, they were together, sharing a moment that nobody can take away. Cool that you could capture it even though your romantic ideals were crushed in the end…

too funny. I was praying with my boy a few weeks ago after a heart to heart and was crying as I was praying. When we got done he squeezed me tight and said "Daddy don't cry." I told him it was ok and he said "because I was really worried that you would get water in my hair."
The longer story is in the blog post below. (feel free to let me know if you want me to delete the link, just wanted to share that funny part)

Never had a sister. But, having a girl as an only child has been a blessing in so many ways. I know I'm not her sister, but now that she is a young adult, we have gone to another level in our relationship. Love this pic. It is really a "wordless Wednesday" kind of picture. No caption necessary.

Great job on the photo. They look adorable together. I can only hope my future kids will follow in my technology footsteps the way yours have.

As a photographer I'm thinking, "Man, if I had a 50MB file of that I could sure find markets for that image!" Really nice image. Great moment that is hard to re-create.

our boys steal Daddy's phone too and play "bubble breaker"…its handy when they need to be quiet, not so handy when you can't find the phone! Sweet pic!

Oh that's too cute! Those two are adorable. Your girls have their own sense of style and I like it. Seanna's outfit looks like something my youngest would choose. ha ha ha – Great capture!
