Own The Mix.
Seriously people.
I have played in many churches.
Half the battle is convincing the lead audio guy that a little help is always good.
You don’t suck. You are actually pretty good.
But we can all use a little help.
Chris and Dustin KNOW their stuff.
It’s translatable to the small church or the big church.
Could you use some help?
You’re Welcome.
Los

I think I needed this like 10 years ago.
Thanks, Los.
Dude, so awesome! Thank you.
Amen!
I've been the lead audio guy at two churches and the most important thing I've learned is (no pun intended) to own the mix. That means mistakes and all. That way, not only does it show the musicians I'm just as serious about my craft as they are about theirs, it also builds trust between the audio engineer and those who have to work with him/her because they aren't afraid to take responsibility. The only other thing is for all involved to realize they're all on the same team and to listen to each other.
Great resource. Even if you’re a pro, you’ll learn.
I saw a Jess Sandstrom cameo in there…
hahaha, JEFF, not Jess
I don’t even play anymore, but wow, something I really feel a burden to pray for. Seriously though, I really hate even going near a mixer, but there’s nothing more distracting than a bad mix. I was in a very large church in Downtown Nashville a couple of months ago and only understood about half the words the speaker said.
that's pretty amazing.
this is an awesome resource. thanks for posting.
This looks great.
Make sure to take a good luck at their terms of service, it does auto renewal and a few other things you may really dislike in the long run. Don’t think that if you sign up for a monthly payment that you can cancel at anytime without paying the rest of the year, that is not the case with their terms of service. Regardless if you are paying for an annual or the months you are still paying for an entire year. Also if you fail to pay any of those months they will take legal action against you. I am just sending this as an alert to really read the fine print before signing up.
Don’t get me wrong ownthemix is probably a great resource for any audio engineer, but just know the Terms of Service in and out before signing up.
