This is Carlos.
He has a rad name.
He has also been waiting for a sponsor for over 6 months.
That is way longer than necessary.
Carlos’ world is about to change if someone decides to sponsor him right now.
Will that be you?
In Feb of 2007 I went to Uganda with Compassion International and can say without reservation that this is the most complete and thorough child development program out there.
These kids lives are changed.
Here is a short clip of Shannon meeting her child.

These kids are real.
So.
If Carlos gets sponsored and you don’t get to sponsor him, it’s ok…
There is a whole slew of kids right here that could use your support.

Do you sponsor any children through Compassion International?
Los

LET US KNOW IF YOU SPONSORED CARLOS!!!

This is such a great post. I love that video!

We sponsor a child in Uganda through Compassion. His name is Abaho and he's 14. We picked him when he was only 5. I love to get the letters and I just sent him a large envelope that I hope he gets for his birthday in October. :)

Thanks for sharing & reminding us about kids like Carlos.

I sponsor Patricia, age 8, in El Salvador. I kept hearing about Compassion through various blogs and made my commitment to Patricia on March 25 of this year.

My wife and I sponsor a girl named Fiona in Uganda. We are expecting our first child in January and money is really tight right now. I was actually thinking about canceling my sponsorship, since we need all the money we can get for our own child.

    You just changed my mind.

WE DID IT! WE GOT CARLOS! We are SO excited. (We as in the Walker Family) We have been talking about picking a child for a couple of weeks now. We thought that we would let our kids pick, but guess what they are long in bed and we feel God called us to take this opportunity NOW. Thanks Carlos for your post. Can't wait to get to know our Carlos!

Yay Faith!!!!! I am excited that we get to sponsor Carlos. Compassion is such a cool organization. I am looking forward to being a small part in what God can do in someone's life far across the planet from us. Thanks Carlos for sharing this with us.

I sponsor Maria in Guatemala… she is too young to write so she sends me pictures she draws, so heart melting. I canceled my netflix subscription to have enough to sponsor her, I figure her pictures are more filling than movies.

My husband and I sponsor Velourdes (19), Cilianise (16), Elouse (16), Ketlia (14), Lina (14), and Stanley (6), all from Haiti. It has been the most rewarding experience of my life! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to stretch their faith and to grow in ways you never thought possible!

There are so many things I love about this post. Here is just one.

Sometimes I get sucked into believing the lies that you have to make a perfect video to make a difference, to move people to tears, to move them to action, to move them at all. No offense but this video was horrible from a technical perspective. Yet it does what many "perfect" films with million dollar budgets fail to do…make an impact on those who watch it.

Great video, Los! Way to stir us into action toward the things that are close to God's heart.

Dude. I shot that with a flip cam and a hand full of Ugandan beer. Of course it is technically not up to par! LOL
      But thanks!

Oh Carlos, I am a crying mess over this video. Thank you so much for that! It touches me deep inside to see these children loved from afar, not even being known personally. It brings me back to Haiti a couple years ago when I had the privilege of seeing my friends meet their sponsor children for the first time and seeing the love that they have for these children. As if they were their own children from their loins. And oh the tears… Ahhhh, good times…. Only Jesus can birth that kind of love. Thanks so much! I love your God given creativity and heart.
