And yes, Jack White is pretty amazing. Love White Stripes and his other side projects. Huge fan of The Raconteurs as well as his new stuff with The Dead Weather.

Jack White is weird. Interesting concept, and I can see the symbolism he's going for here, but it's a little over the top. Just my opinion, but I doubt it's ever a good idea to associate automatic weapons with simple inter-personal conflict. hahaha. Apart from that fact, it's a well-done video. Whatever happened to simple melodramatic symbolism though? I think this over-complicates something that's actually pretty simple and easy for most people to relate to.

I think the video is ironically close to what kids in the burbs do every day. They’re trying to figure out life…living a “normal” existence…& blowing each other away at the same time.

Yes I like the commentary on how for the most part in America we live out of our fears. Then in reaction to those fears overreact or don’t react to interpersonal conflict in appropriate ways.
But are we missing the global conflict references? M16 vs. AK47
America is concerned with keeping the status quo (suburbs). Keep everybody happy. US doesn’t allow pictures of real raw pictures of the war. We want to keep war sanitized and not look at the ugly part of it. Some parallels can be drawn between how we as people react to interpersonal conflict and how we as a country react to global conflict. .
Awesome analogy about the US and all (seriously it was), but unfortunately that wasn't an AK-47.
