Ragamuffin Soul Pimps Benjamin Holsteen

Posted on 30. Sep, 2009 by loswhit in Music

LAst week I wanted to pimp lots of music on this blog.
Like eveything else in my life, there was too much of a good thing.
So…I’m going to sparadically throw a new tune written by a Ragamuffin Soul community member every few days until we get down that list.
There are songs you NEED to hear sitting in my inbox.
So yea.
Here we go…

Clear.
What a rad concept.
This is a song by Benjamin Holsteen.
You can listen to the song below.

Clear

And here are the lyrics…

Clear

Jesus, Bring me back to life
End the pain and strife
Of a life Lived on it’s own
Jesus, melt this heart of stone
Wrapped in flesh and bone
And make it beat again

Pre-Chorus
‘Cause a life lived with you
Is a life made new

Chorus
May the things of this world blur
As You become clear
May the songs that we sing
Sound sweet in Your ear
You bring hope to the hopeless
So we stand without fear
As the things of this world blur
And You become clear
Jesus, you’re calling me to die
To the sin that holds my life
In its steely grip no more
Because Jesus, your love sets captives free
And it saved a wretch like me
From the death that I deserve
And a love so true
Could make this heart new

Pre-Chorus (x2)
‘Cause a life lived with you
Is a life made new
And a love so true
Could make this heart new

Ragamuffins, give some love and some feedback!!!

    NIIIIICE!!!!!!!

I love the fact that it doesn't sound like every other worship song out there – but it's still singable for congregations. GREAT job!

this song will be used within the next few weeks at my church. best song-pimping yet. thx. good work benjamin.

in unrelated news, the text in this comment box is white in my browser (firefox). and the background is too. i have to go back and highlight what i just typed to find out what i just misspelled or whatever… maybe it’s just a glitch.

I like to read the lyrics before I actually listen to a song so I don't automatically fall in love with the hook and forget that if there's no meat to the lyrics I don't need to use it in worship. So at this point I've not listened to it. This song has a great message…although the topics are a little scattered. I don't mean to be negative, and I always think one should write what is on the heart….but it seems like so many of these new songs express the same ideas in the same old ways. I don't think I would add this song to my worship because other songs have said it better. And more cohesively.

    Cool sound, though!!

We’re only a little spoiled with Ben leading us to sing to Jesus each week.
So proud of you bro! Way to go.
