I filled it out, but I don’t need your iPhone 3g.
Already have one. Well I guess I could use it and give it to friend or someone who needs it. Whatever

    • Chris Burke 9 March 2010 at 8:13 pm #

Let’s try this again.. (second time..) I have to use the replies to comment, as the post button won’t work for me??

I filled out your survey.. As for a reason I deserve your iPhone.. I don’t.. None of us do really.. We just want it.. And the truth is, I don’t want it.. I already have 2.. I would give it to a pastor friend of mine who could really use it to keep his schedule in order.. Hi phone is archaic, and I know it would bless him to have it.. So I’d give it to him for sure..

    • Jason Curlee 10 March 2010 at 7:34 am #

I would love your iPhone…just to have a little bit of Ragamuffin Heaven…since I have one already I would put it in one of those vacuum packed containers and have it sit on my desk…it would be cherished for all of eternity…well at least until the world ends and death and mass destruction come or Christ returns and gets me the hockey puck outta here…

Seriously…I would be honored to possess your iPhone…and would raffle it off for billions of dollars and then my church would never have to pay me again!!!! :^)

  2. Brandi 9 March 2010 at 8:02 am #

dude. i need your iphone 3g because my crappy samsung has seen better days. and because im awesome. i mean, lets be honest. ;)

    i kid i kid.
    but seriously, pick me.
    ;)

  3. Andy A 9 March 2010 at 8:05 am #

I need one because I’m probably the only designer in the design world that doesn’t have an iphone. :)

I represent the old razrs! [Not excited tone]

    • Tom Antunes 9 March 2010 at 11:48 am #

Sorry Andy.. but remembering a Michael Jackson song : YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! lol

  4. Amanda Sims 9 March 2010 at 8:05 am #

Done. And my darling hubby Paul really needs an iPhone (read: is jealous of mine) so if I won it I would give it to him.

  5. Caleb 9 March 2010 at 8:06 am #

So I’m able to read Ragamuffinsoul.com on the go, of course!

  6. Kieley 9 March 2010 at 8:07 am #

    would love your old phone
    since a crappy phone i do own…

seriously loswhit, I own an old flip phone that I have had from over four years ago…here’s what happened…

I got my phone upgrade and was on my phone @ college, eating ramen noodles and talkin’ on the phone…

    phone fell into ramen…

phone died and I was forced to go back to my old, old phone

so help a poor college chick out since I have so much more style and personality than my phone indicates…
    :)

    -Kieley

    • Jay 9 March 2010 at 8:16 am #

Ok, I vote for this person to get the phone simply because that story is hilarious. iPhone killed by Ramen. Classic.

  7. Art 9 March 2010 at 8:07 am #

I need your iphone 3G because as a youth pastor I need to be able to keep in touch with my students better, I need to be able to stay connected with parents better, I need to be able to be more efficient and more organized…

Ok. I need it because its flippin’ cool and I want one bad!!!

    • Art 9 March 2010 at 8:08 am #

One more thing… because I’m a YOUTH PASTOR I can’t afford anything unless its FREE! :)

      • Art 9 March 2010 at 9:39 am #

OH! OH! OH! I forgot to mention I did take the poll.

  8. Jonathan B 9 March 2010 at 8:07 am #

    Filled out the survey…

and I need your iPhone so I can get the ProPresenter App and mess with you tech guys during rehearsal.
    Make that happen!

  9. katie 9 March 2010 at 8:07 am #

okay, dont need the phone because my rock star husband gave me one for christmas…score….although i can now add iphone to my growing list of technology that remains insanely smarter than me. however, if you did throw it my way, i promise to give it to someone who could really really use it.

  10. Adam Anthony Gregory 9 March 2010 at 8:08 am #

Keep your phone. It would require ATT who lets face it stinks. But I still filled out the survey. I just don’t want the iPhone when I can get a Google phone on a better network.

  11. dean 9 March 2010 at 8:08 am #

i sure i don’t “deserve” it. besides i’m on verizon :) but i, like kyle, could certainly give it to someone who’d want or need it.

    • dean 9 March 2010 at 8:12 am #

gee… kyle was the only other commenter when i left mine, and when i clicked” send” there were 11 more (and will probably be 50 more when i send this one). so the kyle i refer to is waaay up there on top

  12. Jay 9 March 2010 at 8:09 am #

There’s no reason I deserve the phone.

But there’s no reason why I DON’T deserve it either.

  13. Sara 9 March 2010 at 8:09 am #

don’t deserve it. but I would take it if i won…

  14. Meredith 9 March 2010 at 8:09 am #

I don’t know that I “deserve” to have your phone, but I would really like to have it! I don’t have internet at home ( just at work) and I think I would really enjoy the benefits of it from the iphone. Anyway, enjoyed the survey. Thanks for the opprtunity!

  15. Carlos Freitas 9 March 2010 at 8:10 am #

I deserve to win your iPhone because since you and I have the same name and nickname (Carlos and Los respectively), it’ll feel right at home. It won’t suffer from any kind of dissociative disorder. That’s gotta be worth something.

    • Carlos Freitas 9 March 2010 at 8:13 am #

Oh, and I just broke the speaker on my HTC. Everything is a distorted mess now… :)

  16. Carol 9 March 2010 at 8:11 am #

Took the survey. Seriously my 15 year old daughter needs a new phone. Surprising her with an iPhone may make me mother of the year. I suppose I could lay on the sap and tell you she’s had a rough year, I’m a single mom so an iPhone would be a miracle. But, I won’t. :D

    • shari brown 9 March 2010 at 9:49 am #

I have a phone, works just fine. definitely not as cool as the iphone, but neither am I. Carol sounds like she could really use it. As a former single mom, I can identify with her. So, please help her out. Oh, this is not Carol’s daughter, lol

  17. Kael 9 March 2010 at 8:12 am #

I could use your old iPhone because my phone doesn’t function properly half of the time. It has a bible on it, but it’s pretty worthless and with an iPhone – I would be able to use it when leading worship or teaching during my college ministry.

  18. Mud Puppy 9 March 2010 at 8:12 am #

I have an Apple sticker on both of my cars, yet still don’t own an iphone. :(

  19. Isaac Downing 9 March 2010 at 8:13 am #

I completed the survey. I already have an iPhone 3G, but my wife needs one.

speaking of reading RS on the go – any plans to add a mobile theme to this site? Definitely would be helpful for iPhone perusing.

  20. Colin Moran 9 March 2010 at 8:13 am #

Cant really tell you i NEED the iphone cause i dont NEED it. It is more of a want. I want the iphone cause it is a good way to stay connected with people and what is happening now in my community and in the church.

  21. Will 9 March 2010 at 8:14 am #

I would love to have your iphone. And I will shamelessly beg because I am worship leader/ young adult pastor at my church. I would love to be able to use it for syncing with my macbook pro to help keep me more organized. My wife and I currently do not have internet connection at home and we are using our archaic razors to get online.

    Thanks

  22. Toby 9 March 2010 at 8:14 am #

Don’t really need it nor do I want it, but I’d be happy to donate it to someone who does.

  23. Michael 9 March 2010 at 8:15 am #

    1. because my wife has one and rubs it in
    2. because it will help me stay better organized than my samsung propel
    3. because I really want it…

    • Michael 9 March 2010 at 12:20 pm #

      and did the survey first…

  24. D 9 March 2010 at 8:15 am #

Survey’s done, but there are far more deserving peeps who need your old phone.

I vote for the youth pastor, since I’ve been there and been unable to afford anything resembling awesome.

  25. Tommy 9 March 2010 at 8:15 am #

i love me some iphone 3GS. God just has not released me to pull the trigger on that trick.

so by randomly picking me you can be the “hands and feet of Jesus”. :-) I think I just channeled Jon Acuff.

I command your random number generator to pick me!

  26. Alan Rolls 9 March 2010 at 8:16 am #

Filled in the survey!! Hmmm, why do I deserve your iphone 3g? Well, yesterday my mobile service provider called telling me I was entitled to an upgrade!! I asked about the iphone and he told me £210!!! A lot more than I can afford at the moment!!! So yours would be the only way I’d be likely to have an iphone in the near future!!

Great website and love the tweets!!!

    Al

  27. AliciaMc 9 March 2010 at 8:18 am #

Filled out the survey and I ‘deserve’ your iPhone because I’m better than you are at photoshop… :)

But seriously, I’m a poor graduate student who doesn’t have wireless access at home and it would help a great deal in keeping my schedule straight. Besides, it seems like every other librarian has one and you wouldn’t want me to feel left out, would you?

  28. Melissa Russell 9 March 2010 at 8:22 am #

well, i don’t deserve it really on my own, except for the fact that i have been fighting wanting one for so long. i thought i’d could hold out & not get one when everyone else was getting one because i didn’t want to “go with the flow”. but i’m finally giving in. i’ll admit it. they’re cool. and i’m tired of my friends trying to convince me that i need one or listening to them talk about how much cooler the iphone is…

so, pick me because i would love to see how i can use the iphone to make the world better, rather than get it because that’s what everyone else is doing. gotta leverage that technology :o ) (btw, i still refuse to purchase a macbook. i just bought a new PC. i gotta revolt somehow…)

  29. transitionpete 9 March 2010 at 8:23 am #

i deserve the iPhone b/c you once told me I could have your iPhone when you were done with it.

but I won’t hold that over your head b/c I ain’t gots no need for for an iPhone currently. i’m just glad to help you out and partake in the banter. ;-)

  30. ryan 9 March 2010 at 8:24 am #

    1. my screen broke
    2. i fixed my screen
    3. battery started to die
    4. screen broke again
5 battery is really dead and has to be plugged in all the time
    6. please help
    7. thanks

  31. Vanessa 9 March 2010 at 8:26 am #

Completed survey and I need an iPhone cause I don’t have one and can’t buy one. =)

  32. Justin Moore 9 March 2010 at 8:28 am #

    Los,
I need the iPhone because I’m a church planter/worship leader and i’m always away from the office, trying to connect with people in the community and get things done. So having the iPhone would help me with staying connected with email and what not. my phone right now is a piece of crap and i would like the option of having email and stuff but can’t really afford the phone cuz i’m broke. so, yeah, i just spiritualized this junk, i went there :) no shame.

  33. cshell 9 March 2010 at 8:28 am #

    Survey Done.

Don’t want your stinkin hand me downs! ;)

  34. matias72 9 March 2010 at 8:28 am #

@loswhit I don’t really need the phone, but would love to have it. I volunteer as the Production manager for all of our services and could really use the functionality of an Iphone to better do what I do. I work as an instructor @ a small college here in Springtown Missouri and my wife stays @ home with our 3 kids. That said… there is very little money to spend on phones.
Keep up the blog and tough questions, we all need to break out of the stereotypes and traditions we’ve place on the church.

So that was supposed to be a smiley face made out of slashes, lines, I’s and O’s. And I would still like the phone… I’m the only one on my team that does not have one.

  35. Roland 9 March 2010 at 8:29 am #

    I’ve always wanted one

  36. Conner Byrd 9 March 2010 at 8:30 am #

I need it b/c I might be the last person who still has a 1st generation iPhone. It’s beat up (fell off the car going roof on Father’s Day going down the high way), it’s full (it’s only the 8GB), it’s slow (it’s full), and it’s about time :)
As a youth pastor/worship leader I couldn’t do without it and man would it be wicked sweet to have one faster!

AND it would kick start my dead blog b/c my first post back would be about winning Los’ old iPhone from Ragamuffin Soul!

    …and I just finished that poll :)

  37. Wescott Pusey 9 March 2010 at 8:30 am #

I don’t like ATT, so make me a believer!

  38. Jack Brown 9 March 2010 at 8:31 am #

Umm, well. I did the survey. Because I love survey’s. Also the chance to win things is cool, but beyond that, it’s nice to interact with down to earth believers. One’s who heads are not stuck in the clouds! Thinking they are better than anyone else. Christ came for us all, not just a select few.

  39. Clay 9 March 2010 at 8:34 am #

Would love to have your phone so that my stay-at-home, homeschooling, wonderful, lovely, beautiful wife can have it. I don’t need it.

  40. Mike 9 March 2010 at 8:36 am #

Survey complete. I upgraded to the 3GS and sold my old iPhone. My son is begging for one and is quite upset that I sold my old one instead of letting him have it. But hey. Had to pay some bills. So if you give me your old iPhone, it’s going to my 12-year-old.

  41. Bryan Lee 9 March 2010 at 8:37 am #

I’m a starving University student thinking of doing seminary which will make me starve even more who also has a fake LG touch screen phone that restarts on me randomly.

  42. Tony 9 March 2010 at 8:39 am #

Reasons Why I Need An iPhone

If I don’t get my hands on an iPhone soon, I might be excommunicated from my role in leadership at a relevant, non-denomonational church. Now, if they find out I’m not a coffee drinker, don’t wear skinny jeans and don’t really “get” Wilco, Owl City, Broken Bells and Muse I might get my hip card revoked.

If you don’t pick me as the winner, I want you to know that you are causing a fellow brother to stumble. Every time I see someone who has an iPhone I boil over with anger. When a commercial comes on the tv screen I start to covet. Now, if this blog is truly to help people grow in their walk w/ God then it makes sense to give it to me because instantly I’ll begin to reflect Christ by riding myself of anger and coveting.

In all seriousness, I’ve been a devoted ATT&T/Cingular customer for over 7-8 years. The reason I haven’t switched over to Verizon is to be a godly husband. All my wife’s family has ATT&T and she chats with her family NON-STOP. Trying to keep the peace w/ the in-laws we have stuck w/ ATT&T so they can save money with their family minutes… and we keep the peace. At least w/ having an iPhone I can keep myself playing mindless apps while my wife is chatting away with her mom. So, please…pretty please…pick me.

  43. Joshua Skogerboe 9 March 2010 at 8:43 am #

Filled ‘er out baby! I’d love that iPhone because (A) How cool would it be to have LOS’s iPhone? Seriously. And (B) my smart phone (insert air quotes around “smart…” Or I guess I could type actual quotes…) from T-Mobile has so little memory that I really can only use it as a phone. And to check email. And Tweet. But seriously… for what I paid for this glorified paperweight it should be cooking me breakfast.

  44. Erin 9 March 2010 at 8:43 am #

I filled out the survey. But I don’t need the phone. If I won the phone I would give it to someone who needed it. :)

  45. Danny 9 March 2010 at 8:44 am #

I need an iphone because my beat up Blackberry Curve feels inferior to ever person who has an iphone. When others pull out their iphones in a crowd, I pretend I don’t own a cell phone. But the true reason I want an this iphone is because yours is anointed. I mean the photoshop pic said it all, “ANOINTED!”

  46. matt bortmess 9 March 2010 at 8:44 am #

    poll filled out…

I love my iPhone… if I win, I’ll give it to my wife!

  47. janie 9 March 2010 at 8:45 am #

reasons i deserve your old iphone–

    1. i was your “office wife” for many years. i think i earned it.

    2. you still owe me for some jumper cables you never returned, so i think its a fair trade.

    3. i can fit in with the cool kids.

    4. seriously though…i am finding my job would be A LOT easier if i could access my email on my phone.

  48. HeidiH 9 March 2010 at 8:46 am #

Filled it out! Don’t really NEED and iphone, it might make my pastor and worship leader jealous. Can’t have that. :)

  49. James 9 March 2010 at 8:47 am #

Uhm, I should get los’s iphone, cause I run a youth centre, and could really use the phone to stay connected with the kids… you know what, i really don’t NEED it… cause no body NEEDS it, i north american need it… which is to say I want it… oh, I am in canada, and its cold for like 6+ months, and I am sure there is an app to warm me up! (don’t worry, you can clear it so it works up here! i totally checked into it)

  50. Seth 9 March 2010 at 8:47 am #

I need your iPhone so I can give it to my drummer who has a flip phone from 1902… it’s pretty sad!

  51. Jason 9 March 2010 at 8:49 am #

I need your iPhone so I can sell it on Craigslist and give the money to The Home Foundation.

  52. Amanda Mae 9 March 2010 at 8:49 am #

I neither deserve it nor need it. I have a 3GS. Thus, I have no desire to win it. Please give it to someone who would actually benefit from having it.

  53. Danny Bixby 9 March 2010 at 8:50 am #

My current phone is 3 years old. Smart phones seem cool. I want to be cool too.

  54. Chris Mathews 9 March 2010 at 8:50 am #

I need your old Iphone, because my Newton is starting to show it’s age.

  55. MIcah Hasty 9 March 2010 at 8:51 am #

I’m an associate youth pastor/worship director/graphic designer/media guy/programming director for Middle School students at my church. I’m constantly on the go and an iPhone would help me to connect with more ease to my worship teams/staff/students. Many of my students have iPhones and/or an iPodTouch that they are always on. This would give me another avenue to be able to connect with them where they are. An iPhone would really help further my ministry effectiveness. Thanks!

  56. Alison 9 March 2010 at 8:52 am #

Filled out the survey. I don’t need the iPhone…but I bet my husband would like it.

  57. Christina 9 March 2010 at 8:53 am #

I deserve the iphone because it would be a dangerous ministry tool in my hands.

I’m a poor servant of God and am waiting for the heavens to send me an iphone and macbook pro. You could be the lucky man to assist heaven in part of this endeavor.

  58. craig mccullough 9 March 2010 at 8:53 am #

    filled out the survey

i would like the iphone cause i cant afford one myself, and it would be useful to organise my life basically.

honestly i don’t need one, just would like one, big difference…

when my contract is up next month and my blackberry pearl gets an Office Space-style beatdown with a baseball bat – I’ll need a new phone

  60. Jordan 9 March 2010 at 8:55 am #

I need an iPhone. I’m a graphic design using a BlackBerry. Not cool. :)

  61. heather 9 March 2010 at 8:56 am #

I totally deserve you iphone 3g because, well I’m not sure why, but here it is:

    10. I could read your blog from it and look cool.
    9. I could sit in starbucks drinking my chai late and look cool.

    7. I totally would be able to use it for my job while looking cool.
    6. I would love it, and take care of it always, and look cool!
    5. I can update not only my facebook, twitter, and wordpress while looking cool, but the functionality of the iphone would help me to look cool while updating my pastors facebook, twiter, and wordpress!
    4. I would be totally excited to have it and take a cool twitpic with it!
    3. I don’t know what to put for this one
    2. It would be an answer to prayer as I can’t afford one.
    1. I’d appreciate it always!

    My top ten reasons.
Thought I’d give it a crack!

  62. amy sanders 9 March 2010 at 8:56 am #

    ummm, i don’t deserve it. but i don’t even have a phone. :)

  63. heather 9 March 2010 at 8:57 am #

11th reason is I’d have an awesome spell check and dictionary so I can properly say your instead of you! ;-)

  64. Silas 9 March 2010 at 8:57 am #

Because we need some of loswhit stuff in Canada!

  65. Chrisann 9 March 2010 at 9:00 am #

I’m pretty sure I really don’t need one, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want one! It would be pretty nice to have :)

  66. dustinuga 9 March 2010 at 9:00 am #

I don’t need your phone, but my wife would love it. Funny story from last week: I have a 3GS, and my wife recently got an upgrade (a samsung or something). And I made the comment to her, “oh wow, you can get pictures in text messages now! that’s awesome!”

I was in the doghouse all night. I didnt see the irony of my comment.

  67. Albert 9 March 2010 at 9:02 am #

I want your iPhone ’cause I can’t really come up with an answer as awesome as everyone else’s. This rocks!

    Don’t worry, I did the survey. :-)

  68. kevin 9 March 2010 at 9:04 am #

I don’t deserve it, but my wife certainly does.

  69. chad 9 March 2010 at 9:06 am #

    Don’t need the phone…..

  70. Aaron J 9 March 2010 at 9:07 am #

Great survey, and I love reading your blog. I need your old iphone cuz “Cinnamon”, my Macbook, is screaming at me whenever I try to sync up my windows mobile phone with it. She just doesn’t like it one bit… all that and how can you expect a worship/youth pastor to function in this world without an iphone???

  71. Mark 9 March 2010 at 9:09 am #

Reason1 1 – I am a secret Ninja doing cover operations and i need an iPhone to help me Crane kick my nemesis in to oblivion with love! Jesus was a spiritual Ninja afterall!

Reason1 1 – My face is on it so it must be mine! : (http://www.irishmark.net/MEDIA//2010/03/face-on-590×442.jpg)

  72. Crystal 9 March 2010 at 9:10 am #

    Done.

I don’t deserve your iphone…I NEED your iphone. I have a super ancient flip phone that does nothing but call and very slowly text. In today’s world, working with teenagers, I need something more high tech! Plus, working with teenagers for a living means no extra income to buy my own iphone ;-) Besides, I’m just cool.

  73. beastiej 9 March 2010 at 9:11 am #

not working right now, so can’t afford one on my own, but love mac!

I need your iPhone because it’s original release date was on my birthday (June 29th)!! I remember sitting there, on my couch, thinking.. “Hey, that thing looks cool! And it’s being released on my birthday! I want one of those.” Now, three years later, I am soon putting my first phone to retirement and would love my dream of having an iPhone come true.
    Thanks for considering me!

  75. rhiannon 9 March 2010 at 9:20 am #

    done and done

  76. Elle 9 March 2010 at 9:23 am #

Oooh… I deserve your Iphone, because I still have a retro slide phone, that I bought used. I’m about to move to San francisco to start medical school so I’m saving every penny, and my old retro phone is broken, and I can’t press at least half the numbers. I discovered this while trying to report a hit and run accident, I couldn’t dial 9-1-1 so I had to call my boyfriend to call the police and have the police call me….

I mean seriously wouldn’t you want a good samaritan who stops to help you to be able to call 9-1-1? Yeah, your old phone would totally go to a good home!

  77. Danny 9 March 2010 at 9:27 am #

heh. I don’t deserve your iPhone, but it would be freaking sweet to have!

  78. Jason Bunch 9 March 2010 at 9:29 am #

I need your iPhone 3g because there is no way my wife will let me get one without getting a free one.

Also I need your iPhone 3g because AT&T needs more money.

  79. Billy 9 March 2010 at 9:36 am #

I need an iPhone because I want to be HALF as cool as you, Los. (AND because I already have AT&T, and because I am cheap!) HA!

  80. Kieley 9 March 2010 at 9:37 am #

it’s me again…the girl who tragically lost her last phone to a huge bowl of ramen….

forgot to say that i took the survey in my first comment.

for the love of ramen…please ‘los, I need your iphone.

  81. steph 9 March 2010 at 9:38 am #

would love your iPhone cos i want to use the Taylor Swift app. no shame. thanks los

  82. Fred McKinnon 9 March 2010 at 9:39 am #

I would LOVE the iPhone 3G … because:
1: I am one of the only dudes left down here who doesn’t have one.
    2: I’m an Apple-addict.
3: I’m an iPhone addict, even though I don’t have one.
4: You would set me free from the sin of coveting my neighbor’s iPhone.
5: I could do YouVersion on my phone. Woo hoo.
6: Because I filled out that survey, hollah.
7: Because I won’t feel so isolated at re:create pecking on my Palm Treo.

Since 7 is the number of perfection (so I’ve heard), I’ll stop there.

  83. Nikki S 9 March 2010 at 9:40 am #

    hmmm… I need your iPhone because….

1.) It will give me super powers.
2.) I will FINALLY be cool… the iPhone is all I need to reach awesome status.
3.) I NEED to be connected to ppl at all times, in all places… who knows when someone might need to tweet me while I’m in the bathroom! And talking on the phone in the bathroom is just awkward. And not cool. (See reason #2).

All joking aside, I’d like an iPhone because I love the apps and I’m super cheap, shop consignment, and can’t, in my finite brain, justify buying one. :D

  84. Rich Stephens 9 March 2010 at 9:40 am #

Filled out the poll… I should get your iPhone because I will give it away to someone who doesn’t have one – I already have one. Now, if it was a 3GS, it might be a different story.

  85. Adam Mashni 9 March 2010 at 9:40 am #

    Here’s my dealio:
I was blessed to be given a first gen iPhone from a volunteer in our youth ministry when he upgraded…love it. love everything about it.

so to have an iPhone 3G and actually get pic messaging would just be glorious.

    here’s to hopin.

  86. Steven Welch 9 March 2010 at 9:41 am #

My wife needs a phone bad!

  87. amber 9 March 2010 at 9:41 am #

I would the the Iphone to be able to read/post blogs/updates where ever I am instead of having to wait to get home, to my laptop. I could reach more people.

  88. Nate 9 March 2010 at 9:41 am #

Would love to have it to give to my wife. She has wanted one, but we just haven’t had the funds to get her one. She deserves it, she works hard and takes care of me and our two kids (taking care of me is a full-time job in itself :-) ).

  89. Kevin 9 March 2010 at 9:41 am #

If God wants me to have a smartphone, he’ll provide a way. Maybe he’s urging you to give me yours! :-)

  90. Melinda Childs 9 March 2010 at 9:42 am #

I guess I really don’t NEED and iphone, but their kinda cool, and I’ve been wanting one for awhile. so, yeah. ha

  91. the asaff 9 March 2010 at 9:42 am #

i filled out the poll too!

don’t know that i “deserve” to get your iPhone. i’m on the fence as far as getting one. my dad has one… my mom is getting one… but it makes me uneasy to think that if i get one and something happens to it… there goes my phone AND my iPod. don’t know if i could handle that!

then again… i got an iTouch for Christmas…

so what the heck! if you want to give me your iPhone, i’ll take it! ;)

  92. Michael Buckingham 9 March 2010 at 9:43 am #

I need an extra iphone. Yep, I said an extra one. I have an iphone, 3GS even…but AT&T gets my goat (disclaimer: I never really had a goat). So…if I had an extra one I could throw that at the wall to alleviate my frustration.

Thank you for hearing my pain.

  93. martin 9 March 2010 at 9:43 am #

love it – iphone. gimmie. lol…um, btw – does it work with Verizon?

  94. Keith Tackel 9 March 2010 at 9:44 am #

I need the iPhone because as much as I try my Blackberry Storm will always be a poser wannabe!

  95. Robert 9 March 2010 at 9:44 am #

it’s all in the apps, right? i know that i would be more productive and more efficient with ALL those apps! :)

  96. Liz 9 March 2010 at 9:45 am #

I’ve refused to give into the man that says I must upgrade my phone as soon as my contract says, so I’ve had my current phone for 2 1/2 years. I’m not getting a new one until it dies a painful death, or one is given to me. ;D

  97. Kevin 9 March 2010 at 9:46 am #

I don’t deserve anything but I keep hearing how great iPhones are. I am a BlackBerry man myself so maybe you want to prove how great the iPhone is. If so, hand it over and let’s see.

  98. Mike Mahoney 9 March 2010 at 9:47 am #

Ah, I’m just a poor kids pastor who needs something to convince him Apple is not evil… maybe you’re the one!

  99. Ben Terry 9 March 2010 at 9:48 am #

I need one to prove to me that Android isn’t better.

  100. jeremyraido 9 March 2010 at 9:49 am #

i need the iphone because i have a horrible sense of direction and i hear this GPS might help me from getting lost so much

also i feel that if i tweeted more the world would be a better place

  101. Nicole 9 March 2010 at 9:49 am #

To check your blog from work! I’d like to have the ability to have a camera, then upload the pictures straight to Facebook or Twitter!

  102. ...adam 9 March 2010 at 9:50 am #

I feel like I should play up that I’m a social worker (a la michelle phifer in dangerous minds) in why I deserve the iPhone 3G, and I could tell you really tough stories and really turn up the emotion (a la sandra bulluck in speed – i mean, the blind side) but then I would feel cheesy.

So, all that to say I would really really like one. And if you want, I will even practice pulling out the phone in social situations, so everyone can see that i have an iphone.

  103. Isaiah 9 March 2010 at 9:51 am #

I don’t deserve your iPhone, but it would be cool to have one. I would feel like one of the “cool kids” to have one. I would have to hack it though to get it to work on T-Mobile’s network, which would be fun!

    Isaiah

  104. Jennifer V. 9 March 2010 at 9:51 am #

I need one because my blackberry has seen better days…

  105. jeff somers 9 March 2010 at 9:51 am #

i need the iphone for my wife – she has the world’s first cel phone and never complains. that’s right, i’m playing the sweet card, but hey, it’s the truth.

  106. JJ 9 March 2010 at 9:52 am #

Hi Carlos, so I took the survey and would LOVE your iPhone as a surprise gift for my husband. He’s been following your blog about 4 years now; you’ve even inspired him to start his own: (http://livingthirsty.blogspot.com/2009/05/meet-my-blogfather.html)

He’s also been craving an iPhone for quite awhile. One person came into his lab (he’s a grad student) last fall with an iPhone, then a second, and now even a 6th grader in our youth group (which we co-lead) has one! So he’s fighting it on a daily basis because, even though he tries not to mention it very often, I know how badly he wants one too!

So to have one for free, not to mention the former phone of his “Blogfather” Carlos Whittaker, would be better than twenty Christmases for my husband. And for me — he’s so hard to shop for; this would give me more “cool wife” points than if I could somehow buy him a Nikkon D3!

    Thanks, Jordan

  107. Ken 9 March 2010 at 9:52 am #

I’d like to give it to my wife. I lost my job and have been trying to get one since June. She had to go back to work. It would be a nice surprise.

  108. Steven Morris 9 March 2010 at 9:52 am #

I need your iPhone because ATT is really annoying and I want to have a real phone with a decent service provider here in Central Nebraska!

    @srmorris2

  109. Steve 9 March 2010 at 9:54 am #

Did survey. Already have a 3G – you don’t happen to have a 3GS hiding around there somewhere do ya? :)

  110. Clint Singleton 9 March 2010 at 9:54 am #

Deserve is a very tricky word…but I will say I’m a Mac user stuck in a Blackberry world. And anyone who uses a mac has to understand that kind of pain.

  111. johan 9 March 2010 at 9:54 am #

I would LOVE the phone. I’m crazy about toys, but here in South Africa the iPhone is hecticly expensive. The best thing about giving me the phone is that you can tell your friends that your phone has moved to Africa ;)

  112. Maggie Cook 9 March 2010 at 9:54 am #

I would LOVE to win your old iPhone, because I am a true gadget geek who was born in the wrong decade – I was teaching other old farts how to twitter at last years NWLC and get their tweets up on the large twitter board! And I would LOVE an iPhone to get at all those apps, BOY, would that be a great time! YUP, i would LOVE it and I would USE it – my phone now is not bad, but it is NOT an app phone – I can tweet and get to some stuff, but not really the neat things – HA! thanks for the contest and I hope my responses helped with your survey – :)

  113. Sharon 9 March 2010 at 9:55 am #

I would love to have your iphone so i could read your blog any and everywhere. My husband has been out of work for over a year and i can’t afford to buy one.

  114. Mr. T 9 March 2010 at 9:57 am #

I would an iPhone just because it would make life a lot easier, and it would save me a lot of money, cause then I wont have to go buy one. Everyone in my church leadership has one, everyone.

  115. jasonthebaldguy 9 March 2010 at 9:58 am #

Ok Los… I dont need your phone…both I and my wife have one… but my friends do!! Karen and Rick are hardworking people. They are living completely on faith and for a short time were homeless before God miraculously provided a farm for them to live out their dream of starting an organic garden. They could not hope to afford an Iphone and they were talking just the other day how they could really use an Iphone to take pictures and gather data about each of their crops. They don’t really need the phone plan but it is perfect for a hand held computer with a camera…

    thanks for your consideration!

  116. Lindell 9 March 2010 at 9:58 am #

Already have my own iphone but would take yours and give it to someone else

  117. @Tadvertising 9 March 2010 at 9:58 am #

Very Simply – my son turned 7 and thought he should get one for his birthday last month. He didn’t and I could be the greatest dad ever if I came up with one now. You would make me THE BEST DAD. How’s that? How often can you make another guy THE BEST DAD? Now is the time. He wants the apps and games for all the times he has to entertain himself waiting on dear ole Dad. And he needs to phone part to get calls from his grandparents direct to him. So consider it a iphone that connects the best family members, games and down time together for a 7 year old.
Just saw this tweeted from a friend and can’t wait to follow your tweets and get deeper into the Creative Chaos as time goes by. Love the promo concept too. You win the best promo prize award for the week.

    @TADvertising

  118. Jen 9 March 2010 at 9:58 am #

I’m sure I don’t DESERVE your iphone but I would love to win it. Our almost 12 year old has been promised a phone when he goes to middle school in the fall. I’m thinking we’ll surprise him with one at the end of the school year. I would love to surprise him with an awesome iphone. Otherwise, he’ll probably get the cheapo whatever comes free with whatever contract we decide to get for him.

  119. Gretchen 9 March 2010 at 9:59 am #

When my 2 year old palm centro buttons freeze up, I have to put it in my back pocket and sit on it for an hour or so to unfreeze it….and trust me, I don’t need any extra bulk on my backside!

  120. Jarrod Kinman 9 March 2010 at 9:59 am #

i need your phone so that possibly some ragamuffin mojo residue would be left on it, and quite possibly transfer some over to me!

Hoping that I will be disturbed and disrupted by using your phone. God seems to be havin’ you follow his spirit intensely this last year. I’m lookin’ to have him do the same for me!
Carlos thanks for sharing your heart, your ministry, and your music!

  121. Cindi 9 March 2010 at 9:59 am #

Filled out the survey…don’t deserve your phone, but it would still be super cool to have it – don’t know anyone around here that has one.

  122. J.R. Linkous 9 March 2010 at 9:59 am #

Carlos, I need your iPhone because I am not a televangelist. They don’t deserve iPhones with all their hair and fancy cars. With that being said, everyone else on here posting to win is a televangelist. I said it… all of you are televangelist.

  123. Katherine 9 March 2010 at 10:00 am #

I could really use your IPhone as a “back-up”. I lose a lot of things… it is only time before mine is left in some washed out undisclosed location. Unfortunately, if I am the big winner I cannot guarantee you the safety and security of your phone. Sorry. Just trying to remain true to the beautiful mess that is me.

  124. Jonathan Blaylock 9 March 2010 at 10:02 am #

I would love to have an iphone to use as a ministry tool, plus it would just be cool!

  125. Gui 9 March 2010 at 10:06 am #

Survey filled out… now, I deserve your iPhone because I know you’ll storage your new album on it and I’ll save a lot of money (here in Brazil iPhones are so expensive :( )

  126. Jason 9 March 2010 at 10:07 am #

Would love to have YOUR iPhone so I can learn mad Photoshop skillz like you.

  127. Jeff Sorke 9 March 2010 at 10:11 am #

I would like to have it to give to my wife. She has a CrackBerry, but she wants to be on my iPhone all the time!

  128. Mike 9 March 2010 at 10:11 am #

I would love to have an iphone to give to my lovely wife, so she can text and send/receive photos with our 2 college kids who are across the country. I also think that your dad would say it was awesome if you gave the iphone to a CSBC pastor’s wife!

  129. Donna Gray 9 March 2010 at 10:12 am #

I have 6 daughters and 2 of them are in need of a new phone. If I only had to buy one….well that would be outstanding!

  130. Julie 9 March 2010 at 10:14 am #

I would like to give the iPhone to a my friend Lorene. She is graduating from college in Austin, Tx at age 40. She has had a more than “challenging” life and has overcome it all with Jesus. She gives him all the glory for her success. She is now starting her own travel company and I told her the iPhone can be a great “tool” for everything she will do to run her own business. Please let me win for her.
    Thanks LOS!

  131. Courtney 9 March 2010 at 10:14 am #

I deserve this phone because well I don’t know but I will tell you a funny story…any by funny I do mean embarrassing for me. I was once hanging out w/ Rick Warren (that’s not a joke, it’s legit) and I was going on and on about Ragamuffinsoul.com and talking about how much I’ve been inspired and learned from it and how you have an incredibly attractive brother (eddie, PLEASE don’t be reading this) and after getting it all out, feeling accomplished. Rick threw his head back and laughed and said you think Fermin’s son is cute?!? You read Carlos’ blog? I wanted to crawl in a whole and die. I should have assumed Rick Warren knows everyone. He then proceeded to email you. I have since adapted a stronger filter on my mouth and rid my 13 year old gushing about people I think are cute. Humility is mine.

  132. drew martin 9 March 2010 at 10:14 am #

i believe that i deserve the iPhone for a couple of reasons: for one, i’m still using a blackberry from around 2002-2003. it still has the Cingular branding on and in it. it has the scroll wheel on the side (which doesn’t click) and the left half of the keyboard rarely works. not easy to use, and if someone isn’t already in my phonebook, i can’t call them. second point- i’m heading off to college in the fall and i need a good phone to call home to mom or to call out for chinese. third point- i love ragamuffin soul.
    thank you.

  133. alece 9 March 2010 at 10:20 am #

i don’t play the missionary card very often, but i’m whipping it out today.

i moved to africa at 19 and have lived there for 12 years. maybe that’s enough to earn me an iphone.

  134. Amy M Fry 9 March 2010 at 10:22 am #

    Los,
I don’t “deserve” your phone. Who of us does? That being said, AT&T just combined with our ‘digital cell phone’ company (we live in a hole/valley and haven’t been able to receive regular cell service), and very soon, with the month, we’ll all be able to use regular cell phones to communicate with each other. And after playing with an iPhone the other night while in the big city, I just thought it would be extremely cool to have one of the first in the vicinity!

  135. Ally 9 March 2010 at 10:23 am #

I deserve the iphone because I am the only librarian on twitter who does not have a smart phone? (or so it seems) – no seriously – there was this poll about librarians and smartphone usage and it asked were you planning to buy one, etc, etc, and I complained that there was no choice for “I would if only they were cheaper and plans were cheaper” because that would be my reasoning =D

(Though seriously – I am hereby taking myself out of the running – because even if I was given one, I cannot switch to AT&T because it doesn’t work here, and I’m not willing to pay for the access… now if it was an ipod touch instead I’d be jumping at it)

  136. wvpv 9 March 2010 at 10:25 am #

Whatever you do, don’t give me your iPhone. My sister got me a “I’m a PC” coffee mug for Christmas. People would freak.

  137. Naomi 9 March 2010 at 10:26 am #

Deserve? That’s tough, I probably don’t…but I am in public accounting and this is my super-busy time of year. Additionally, since I am an accountant, I’m too cheap to buy one myself. :)

  138. Nate 9 March 2010 at 10:28 am #

    Hey Los,

Took the survey… hope it helps you “find your blog way” but I really do not need the phone. I have a work supplied BlackBerry that I am pretty happy with (especially cause I don’t pay the bill!!) so, I vote for either Keiley (who lost her phone to Ramens, cause I once lost a phone to liquid, too. Mine wasn’t soup, though, it was toilet water) or Micah Hasty (simply cause I’m a Middle School youth leader here in GRap and I feel his pain) so, give it to one of them, or give it to me and I’ll give it to one of them… but I would rather you choose, cause if I have to choose, I’d feel guilty about not giving it to the one who lost, and I don’t need any extra guilt in my life. :-)

  139. Karol 9 March 2010 at 10:28 am #

Filled out your survey and would love your phone considering I am on the verge of breaking into “that job” ( I interviewed last week). The one I can see myself making a career out of, something that when I wake up I’m excited to do. AND that job is in media production so I’m pretty much the only person in that industry without a smartphone. My husband and I have traded time unemployed since we got married in 2008(he was unemployed for the during the first year for 6 months and I’ve been unemployed during our second year for 4 months)so needless to say it would save me alot of money on something I will need to get for this potential job!

  140. Adam White 9 March 2010 at 10:31 am #

I deserve the iPhone because I sat here for 20min trying to think of something witty to say, and this is the best I could come up with.

  141. Josh 9 March 2010 at 10:34 am #

Bro, I filled it out. I don’t really deserve your awesome phone. But I would like it because I’m an Apple fan boy. If you gave it to me, I would treat it right, and care for it and give a good home.

Thanks for the awesome blog, I read it all the time.

  142. Daniel 9 March 2010 at 10:34 am #

You should give me the iphone so I can sit at the cool pastors’ table at the next conference I attend!

  143. Al Dancy 9 March 2010 at 10:37 am #

Why do I deserve it? Well, my wife just gave birth to our 4th child like a month ago (I’m playing the heart strings right now! Didn’t work!?!? Hmmm…) I can’t see me dropping the dough on it by myself and that’s the truth!

  144. Jacob Winn 9 March 2010 at 10:42 am #

Hmm, I deserve it because I want to get it for my wife, because her phone is messing up. I’d like to get her a new one with a Qwerty keyboard for texting, but we don’t have money for extra things right now since she’s staying home with our twins that we had last year 11 weeks early. So I don’t deserve it, but she does.

Wow, that sounded very desperate. Well, we doing very well and this is definitely not a NEED, but more of a, this would be nice.

  145. Cindy 9 March 2010 at 10:44 am #

    Ummm, I don’t deserve it…but i wouldn’t mind having it! :-)

  146. jaydubs 9 March 2010 at 10:44 am #

my kids and my middle school students may actually think that i have a chance of one day being some what cool.

  147. Dougie 9 March 2010 at 10:45 am #

I really don’t “need” a iphone but they sure are cool, I have a blackberry…just got one. I guess maybe I am always 2 years behind the latest toys and would love to have an iphone and would take great care of it. Send you updates, pictures, whatever you need. :o )

  148. Kyle Whitcroft 9 March 2010 at 10:46 am #

i have no real reason that i “deserve” your iphone. but, if i did win, you could brag to all of your friends that Kyle Whitcroft now uses your old phone. You’d instantly be cooler in their eyes…mine too.

  149. Russ Hutto 9 March 2010 at 10:48 am #

I have a 3G and if I won would love to have you give it away to someone else.

  150. Matt Beard 9 March 2010 at 10:48 am #

    because I don’t deserve it…

  151. bryan willmert 9 March 2010 at 10:49 am #

why??? well i don’t really “deserve it” but rather i really want it..

mine hit the drive way which then in turn gave me one of a few spiderman edition screens… then in trying to get it fixed by a brilliant 19 yr old mac kid… he couldn’t reconnect a cable… so to make calls i get to be that guy talking only via blue tooth…

it that sob enough of a story?? lol

  152. Jamon Abercrombie 9 March 2010 at 10:55 am #

b/c I sent you money for your Ragamuffin Christmas CD back in 2007 and I still haven’t received it :)

  153. Dawn 9 March 2010 at 10:56 am #

    I filled the survey out.

The reason I need an iPhone is simple; I have a husband who is electronically challenged or an electronic tornado.

For some reason he seems to not be able to keep a working phone for long. Something always seems to happen to it.

Today is his birthday, he is 32 years old and I honestly can’t afford to get him a new iPhone, his broke a couple days ago, you can go to my blog and see what the inside of an iPhone looks like. He can;t upgrade until December, so this is why it would be awesome to have the iPhone.

Plus, if we win the iPhone, hopefully we can get you to sign it personally for us at Creation NE this June!

  154. Phil 9 March 2010 at 10:57 am #

I feel bad that I want the iphone.

Jesus wraps us all up in our wants and stuff to bring us to Him! If anyone gets the prize, be sure to use m.youversion.com or download the youversion app. I think they have a free giveaway too here it is: http://www.youversion.com/nexusone

  155. Allen Puy 9 March 2010 at 10:57 am #

Well, first, I’m all for repurposing (over recycling) where possible. Second, at 45, I really need help with staying (who am I fooling?) cool in my 10-year-old-daughter’s eyes, and even a used iPhone would trump her iPod. (Take that, girl…) I’m constantly trying to take consumer products and look at how they can readily elevate the reputation of God–so I’d promise to use this in God-honoring ways. But very frankly, I’m certain there are much more deserving and needy folks on this comment stream. So I leave this in your hands, brother!

  156. Nate 9 March 2010 at 10:57 am #

If you pick me to have your iphone, I will pay it forward by using the phone to help someone. I don’t know how or who. But I’m a filmmaker..and I will record the journey and send it to you.

  157. Travis Fish 9 March 2010 at 10:57 am #

The stupid ringer switch on the side of my iphone broke so it is either always on ringtones or always silent. So annoying.

  158. Dan 9 March 2010 at 10:58 am #

Filled out the survey dude, be interested in seeing the results of some of those questions…

    I deserve your iPhone because I don’t deserve it…but isn’t that what it’s all about? ;)

    cheers!

  159. tenmileg 9 March 2010 at 11:03 am #

yo loswhit, I think I deserve that phone ’cause I waited and waited for you to post your notes from the concert and never got ‘em. Seriously, I’d like to get the phone and get it autographed so that I could sell it for tons of money on Ebay! Holla!

  160. Jamey Ketchum 9 March 2010 at 11:10 am #

    Got it done, LOS!!

I deserve the phone ‘cuz I Love Jesus! I would be able to call Los (which is you) and say “Wuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzuuuzpppppppppppppp??!!!

    Have Fun man,
    JSK

  161. Nick 9 March 2010 at 11:12 am #

I don’t deserve your old iphone, but I have an old Palm 750, that has to be rebooted everyday (by removing the battery, waiting 30 seconds, and then putting it back in), so…it would be nice to upgrade and replace the bad phone.

  162. Andrew 9 March 2010 at 11:15 am #

I don’t need it, so much as My Dad does. it would make his ministry easier, and free up his time to interact more with people

  163. Brian Alexander 9 March 2010 at 11:17 am #

I deserve your iPhone because as a student I currently can’t afford one. I have seen an increase in my desire to get an iphone and I really feel like if I had one that I could use it in many ways, like telling people about the bible with youversion, sharing good music (like this guy named Carlos Witaker) and just being able to be more productive as a person. I think an iphone will help me connect with people I otherwise would not be able to. Thanks for considering me!

  164. Lori 9 March 2010 at 11:24 am #

I have a fear of technology. I can barely figure out how to turn on our MacBook Pro. But my husband could really use your iphone as a creative arts apprentice in our newest church planting adventure. We’ll soon be moving our family out of state, taking a huge pay cut (about half of our current income), and an even bigger leap of faith. It is so worth it.

If that’s not enough to sway your decision… We acquired our first phone a few months ago… a Christmas gift from my parents. It’s a pre-paid Nokia. PRE-PAID. As in not-a-real-phone. My parents are cooler than us.

  165. Jason Stewart 9 March 2010 at 11:25 am #

Just completed your handy survey. Just hoping for your mercy and grace to receive an iPhone.

  166. Terrin 9 March 2010 at 11:25 am #

I filled out your survey! I actually already have an iPhone for myself, but if you were to pass it along to me, I would probably give it to my boss and senior pastor, as I know how much it has helped me organize myself in youth and music ministry (there’s an app for everything!). He’s a busy guy who needs an awesome phone… plus I love my boss to death and would basically do anything for him (including embarrassing myself in a comment thread to get him an awesome phone!)

  167. Jared 9 March 2010 at 11:31 am #

    cause I’m a pimp…
    j/k…don’t need it

  168. Kimberry 9 March 2010 at 11:33 am #

I don’t really need or deserve your iPhone, I have an iPhone so if I won yours I’d probably give it to my bestfriend just so she could play ‘words with friends’ with me. Though she’d probably give it back so she didn’t have to pay monthly.

  169. Lantz 9 March 2010 at 11:34 am #

Maybe the Los’ creativity will rub off when it touches my hands!!

  170. shayne 9 March 2010 at 11:35 am #

Well, I don’t know that I deserve your iphone, but I’d really love to have it. Everybody in my family has a phone (hubby, two teenagers) and we don’t have a land-line. My kids aren’t home usually on weekends and neither is my husband…so I’m left without on those days.

Not on purpose, but Hubs is used to taking his phone with him wherever he goes so he forgets to leave it lots of times.

Anyway…thanks for your consideration. Love your blog and will continue to read even if I don’t win.

  171. Anthony C. 9 March 2010 at 11:45 am #

I would love your iPhone 3G because mine is dieing and I know I won’t have money for a new one anytime soon.
    AND.
I could brag to my friends that this phone came from the hands of THE Carlos Whittaker :)

Love the blog BTW, keep doin’ what ya doin’ brotha.

  172. Jordan 9 March 2010 at 11:51 am #

i need your old iphone 3g so that i can be a fraction of the all-star that you are carlos.

  173. Marije 9 March 2010 at 11:54 am #

I filled out the poll, and um, the first time I saw an iPhone in real life…was 2 weeks ago. Seriously. I don’t know anyone who has one, till my friend bought one. And I just about hyperventilated when I saw it. And now I want one. I even dreamt about it.

  174. Tom Antunes 9 March 2010 at 11:57 am #

WHY DO I DESERVE IT?: well… multiple reasons

*We could keep this iPhone in the family… since I am your “brother”; lol
    *I could be the 1st america outsider to win a ragammuffinsoul contest;
    *I’ve been planning to get 1 iphone for the past 2 years…with no sucess;

    I think this is it…

  175. Jenna 9 March 2010 at 11:58 am #

I definitely don’t deserve it, but I do really WANT it. I want to be cool like all my iphone friends. And I don’t even know the name of my phone if that tells you anything. It does dail out though, so that is exciting!!!!!! :-)

  176. Deb 9 March 2010 at 11:59 am #

I’m happy with my Xenon thanks. My husband would love it so I’ll let him fill out the survey for himself. (I’m guessing this is the iphone that has the broken glass that you talked about with the blog title Cracked)? ;-)

  177. jill 9 March 2010 at 12:02 pm #

I don’t deserve it… my husband does. But I did fill out the survey thingy :)

  178. Brent 9 March 2010 at 12:06 pm #

Well, I don’t need your iPhone since I already have the 3Gs, (not that it wouldn’t be totally cool to own YOUR iPhone). But I would sell it and then give the proceeds to my church to help pay for the billboard that we recently rented. We still need to raise more funds to keep it longer than a month. Totally cool billboard too…Pretty much this, except wider, narrower and with the church logo: http://lifepoint-church.net/wp/wp-content/themes/church_30/images/rotate-couch.jpg

    Thanks!

  179. Kelli 9 March 2010 at 12:09 pm #

    Took the survey…

I certainly don’t deserve an iphone for any reason, but many of my peers – fellow seminarians – seem to think that an iphone is necessary for everything. I’m not willing nor able to pay for one, so I’m out of the loop.

  180. KC Clark 9 March 2010 at 12:16 pm #

Quite honestly it would be the perfect extension to my digital lifestyle. I use my iPod touch for everything from planning services to controlling my tracks from stage to playing games with my kids.
I’ve been considering the switch to the iPhone, but priorities came into play . . . As selfish as it is, I truly want a little more mobility because I’m on the go so much more lately . . . and it would truly be an extension of my digital lifestyle (oh wait, I already said that)

Not a grand answer, but an honest answer!

    Peace Los – KC

  181. Seth Dekkenga 9 March 2010 at 12:16 pm #

I don’t deserve it, but it would be really, really, ridiculously sweet to have. @sethdekkenga

  182. Chris 9 March 2010 at 12:17 pm #

I filled out the survey and was glad to do so. I guess I deserve the iPhone because I don’t have one. I broke down and bought a Touch and love it. Now I’m ready to get the iPhone.

I’m already with AT&T if that helps. I just got to save some pennies for the data package!

Oh yeah, I work for a church…don’t know if that helps or not;)

Thanks for sharing the creative inspiration through Ragamuffin!

  183. marna 9 March 2010 at 12:17 pm #

Nick could use a phone ( I won’t lie we don’t NEED it, no one NEED anything but God but hey we all think we NEED stuff) because he will be going to school on Saturdays and I can’t be in class with him and it scares me that he’s going to be away from me for 4 hours a day with older kids. I want him to be able to call his Mom.

  184. marna 9 March 2010 at 12:18 pm #

PS — Yes I did fill out the survey.

  185. michael 9 March 2010 at 12:19 pm #

I live in Marietta so you could save on shipping , i could meet you at Starbucks and buy you the drink of your choice (yes, that is a bribe)

  186. Jeremy 9 March 2010 at 12:21 pm #

I deserve the iphone because @bayshorts has one and I really want to be like him.

  187. Janaki 9 March 2010 at 12:23 pm #

I deserve your iPhone because my husband dropped his last week and shattered the screen.

  188. Megan Renck 9 March 2010 at 12:27 pm #

Thanks Carlos, for sharing your life, your inspiration, your struggles, your hopes, your perspective, all of it. Thank you.

  189. stefan Brooks 9 March 2010 at 12:31 pm #

I don’t need it or really want it (cuz i have verizon) but thanks for the opportunity to win one and thanks for your ministry

  190. Maddie 9 March 2010 at 12:31 pm #

    Filled out the sweet survey.
I could use the iPhone b/c for the last three years I have had the world’s lamest phone that my friends have nicknamed “Mr. Scuba” b/c it looks more like an indestructible piece of Scuba-diving equipment…and it’s supposedly water resistant.
    It’s a Casio G’Zone. A tank of a phone. Save me.

  191. ryanharrison 9 March 2010 at 12:35 pm #

hey bro, what it dooski? (wow!) I would love to receive your iphone 3g because I’ve been looking for one for a while and they just aren’t in the budget. I am saving for one but they run about 300.00 for a used one and you know how shady craigslist can be. Please consider helping a brotha out. mushluv

  192. Heather EV 9 March 2010 at 12:37 pm #

Because I did your little survey. Or I could sell it on eBay and make lots of money and put it towards my education trying to get a Biblical Studies degree…whichever reason you prefer.

    • Heather EV 9 March 2010 at 12:56 pm #

Or I could give it away.

Just pick me so you don’t have to read all the other comments.

  193. Amy Cathy 9 March 2010 at 12:39 pm #

Because the track ball just fell out of my BlackBerry.

  194. Amy K 9 March 2010 at 12:40 pm #

I already have a crackberry, but I would love to get an iphone for my mom. I need to keep her up with the times and technology!

  195. Glenn 9 March 2010 at 12:44 pm #

I do not deserve it. Filled out your survey for your benefit. Thanks.

  196. Adam Mason 9 March 2010 at 12:50 pm #

Listen here mexican. I want your iphone, the more I can do away from a computer, the more efficient my ministry is.

Haha. Kidding. It’d be cool to have though man. Thanks!

  197. mikeraburn 9 March 2010 at 12:51 pm #

Filled out the survey and I deserve to win your iPhone because even though I have been a Macaddict since the Blueberry iBook, the budget has said no to the iPhone and I have not given into the temptation. Break my iPhone fast los, I can’t take it much longer.

Btw, if I win, please take a sharpie and autograph the back for me. Thx.

    • mikeraburn 9 March 2010 at 12:52 pm #

p.s. it would be really cool to purchase your vinyl from iTunes on your old phone.

  198. Chris Meirose 9 March 2010 at 12:55 pm #

I filled it out. Phone won’t work on my T-mobile network, but I’ll get it cracked or something and find some cool way to use it.

  199. wombat 9 March 2010 at 12:56 pm #

i need your old iphone not for the phone counterpart because i’m on verizon with my work. but, my friend and i do acoustic gigs and we’re thinking of adding in some modern tunes such as Beautiful Girls, Down, etc. i need something that i can put the ‘I am T-Pain’ app on and use it live because it would just make those songs way more awesome.

  200. Christina 9 March 2010 at 12:59 pm #

I’ll give you a ticket to see Jamie Cullum this friday at the Cobb Energy Center if you give me the iphone.

I wouldn’t make this offer except for the fact that I can’t be in Atlanta this friday.

  201. Jason Arredondo 9 March 2010 at 12:59 pm #

Hoping to win your iPhone to give to my wife @SusanArredondo. Thats all.

  202. Kristi 9 March 2010 at 12:59 pm #

I’d love to have the phone so I can get my kids to figure out a way hack the iphone to work with my Verizon account:)

  203. Phillip Gibb 9 March 2010 at 1:01 pm #

    cool filled it in.
I want your old iPhone cos I could never afford it otherwise.

  204. Carrie B. 9 March 2010 at 1:06 pm #

    Ha. I love it.

I have no grand plea other than I just started a business, stepped out in faith away from a full time job with full time pay, and decided to help people. It would help, but alas… I’m one of hundreds. ;-)

  205. Matthew Daniel 9 March 2010 at 1:11 pm #

Don’t so much “need” it, but my wife wants a 3G. And I want her to have it so she can navigate and search for things on the fly. She has a 1st gen and it take for.ev.er to get anything loaded on there!

Plus I never win any of this kind of stuff, so it would be awesome to actually win once!

  206. a.bird 9 March 2010 at 1:20 pm #

i’m not gonna lie. i want it just because i want it.

  207. Kamrie Reed 9 March 2010 at 1:20 pm #

Finished the survey. I need the iphone because pretty much everyone in my family has an iphone how am i supposed to keep up with the techno race. Also if you don’t give it to me you should definately give it to kyle. I trust that he would give it to a person who really needs it.

    • Kyle Reed 10 March 2010 at 7:27 am #

I have already given you the iPod touch, but you know I would give you this as well.

  208. Tim 9 March 2010 at 1:22 pm #

    Dear Carlos.
    Because, I am the worstest.
    Sincerely yours,
    Tim

  209. Zachary 9 March 2010 at 1:23 pm #

    Took your poll.

I just dropped new At and t phone in water by accident and can’t afford a new one myself because I don’t have a job and I’m also starting college in the fall to major in Christian Ministry and probably Social Work. My facebook ministry is growing and I’m hoping to make it huge so we can reach the growing Online social community and with an iPhone I would be able to update it anywhere. If you want to check it out the group I started is called All in For Christ it has about 88 members and could use some help growing it. My focus is too bring a revolution of love and authentic Christian beliefs to the next generation of youth. Your phone would mostly used to continue the minstry and to make it larger in size.

I know this is a long post and there are 216 people plus to choose from but please I would like the phone. Thanks Carlos, love Rain it Down.

  210. Andrea Phifer 9 March 2010 at 1:29 pm #

Filled out the survey. Hope you find the information you’re looking for.

Here’s my story as to why I’d love a you’re iphone:

My husband refuses to have a cell phone and we don’t have a home phone. For this reason I can never get a hold of him (I have a cell phone). He doesn’t realize this is my anti-love language. It bothers me so that if SOMETHING were to happen to me or heaven forbid the children the only way someone could get a hold of him is either via email or county sheriff. However, the only time he’s ever talked about a cell phone with glee is when referring to his friend at work and the app that he has that makes his phone sound like a lightsaber (yea, DH is kinda a geek). So, if I had the iphone my mind would be at ease that, in deed, if something happened he could be reached OR if perhaps I needed a gallon of milk picked up on the way home.

    Thanks for the opportunity Los…

    Ps. love you blog.

  211. Alon 9 March 2010 at 1:30 pm #

I am not sure I “deserve” it more than anyone else here, but my old phone is dead and I am using an even older phone now.
A reliable phone would make my ministry at National Network of Youth Ministries easier.

  212. Katy 9 March 2010 at 1:31 pm #

I filled it out! And well, the reason I want your iPhone is because I’m a poor missionary who is planning to go back to South Africa and will need to be able to keep in touch with people from here, people there, and to be able to have internet and all of those fancy things that aren’t easily accessible there :)

  213. Jill 9 March 2010 at 1:44 pm #

My roommate is tired of me stealing hers. “Where did I put my iPhone?, Jill!!!!”

  214. BeckyA 9 March 2010 at 1:45 pm #

Filled out your survey. Hope it helps.

  215. Sarah 9 March 2010 at 1:49 pm #

I need your iPhone because since last June I became a mom to a now 18th month old and 5 month old twins through foster care. Two of the three are medical needs and my world is NUTS!

  216. alison 9 March 2010 at 1:50 pm #

i don’t deserve it…but have as much chance as anyone else…so here goes…..plus i dont have one and would enjoy one…lol….

  217. Keith Barger 9 March 2010 at 1:52 pm #

I deserve your old iPhone because…
That phone has seen and heard some awesome things. The creative vibe that will come from that thing should be able to catapult my creative juices beyond what I could ever imagine!
Plus, my wife needs one so she can text me -

  218. Joel 9 March 2010 at 2:02 pm #

Wow – what a chance! I’d love that iphone simply because as a worship leader and a Christian musician who loves to collaborate in writing songs with others, the musical iphone apps available are really great in a pinch! I’d also love to be able to get away from my computer screen and still be able to collaborate with other worship leaders and musicians on networks like Twitter (@joelrockemann), etc. Last but not least, my wife is going to Haiti ( our fourth trip there between the two of us) to support the ministry God’s Littlest Angels (GLA) just outside of Port au Prince. It would be great if she could take a phone like that with her during the trip so that she could stay in touch with our 4yr old boy, 3yr old girl and the hundreds of prayer intercessors that will be standing in the gap for her and our family during that time! In other words — PICK ME – PICK ME Please! On another note — Really Appreciate YOUR ministry!!!! Grace and Peace to you. – Joel

  219. Violet 9 March 2010 at 2:06 pm #

i took your survey… but somehow i know i have no chance at the phone.

  220. Lace 9 March 2010 at 2:17 pm #

Took your survey. Thanks for the great blog. :)

My family of nine need another phone to stay in touch. Honestly, yes, we could buy one, but it would have to be another one of those infernal $20 Samsungs. Would much appreciate a luxury like this.

  221. Malachi Elguera 9 March 2010 at 2:23 pm #

I deserve your iPhone because I am unemployed and will sell it for $money$.

  222. Ryley 9 March 2010 at 2:28 pm #

I deserve your iphone because i am a starving student trying to financially survive university and soon grad school. I have been forced by my limited income to neglect technology. An example of this neglect is how i recently bought a used ipod, the biggest one i have ever owned, and it is a whopping 4 Gig. It holds 700 songs and it is absolutely blowing my mind!

  223. Stevie King 9 March 2010 at 2:41 pm #

    Hmmmmmmmm

Well Los, I need your iphone for some mojo. It has just been a garbage few months. Job loss, divorce, cashflow disaster, backpain, snow, and just general suckiness.

I got to give you a half hug, man greeting at last years drive conference (I’m one of the AthenChurch volunteer crew), I immediately got on your twitter and RS and have been in the game since then.

I figure with all the positivity that phone has seen maybe i can collect some of the fallout from being around the phone.

And oh yeah, they are cool and I want to be cool!

Keep up the great work Los!

    Ciao

  224. AZ 9 March 2010 at 2:45 pm #

Because I don’t have one. Tmo fan.

  225. Ric 9 March 2010 at 2:55 pm #

I need the phone so that this old man can stay up with modern technology. It might be the only area that I could keep caught up with.

  226. Jennifer 9 March 2010 at 2:59 pm #

I filled out the survey! And I would be pretty excited about having a fancy iphone… I live out in the sticks. But the phone I have works, so maybe I don’t NEED an iphone, but I would sure enjoy having one! :)

  227. Elisia 9 March 2010 at 3:16 pm #

I wouldn’t say I deserve it, but I would love it. My husband just bought his iPhone 3 months ago and just dropped it this morning and the screen shattered. He has given me his twice (because I have broke mine) and I would feel bad if he had to go back to a crappy Samsung again.

  228. ChrisW(Churchpunk) 9 March 2010 at 3:32 pm #

I don’t really deserve your IPhone. In fact I try to avoid Apple if I can. So maybe you should give it to me in order to turn me to the darkside(Apple) or maybe you think that you would be rescuing my soul from the pit of PC Hell. I dare you to convert me.

  229. Matt 9 March 2010 at 3:53 pm #

    cuz i took your poll……

  230. Tara 9 March 2010 at 3:56 pm #

Los – I’ll buy the phone from you. However, if you want to give it away for free…I’m entering this for my husband. We’re missionaries serving overseas and he’s in need of a phone that he can access the internet from. He’s MEGA-DESERVING!

  231. Rich Emery 9 March 2010 at 4:12 pm #

I did the survey but I don’t need your iPhone 3G I have one but if you did choose me I would give it to my wife and she would be happier then a pig in poo

  232. Sheyenne 9 March 2010 at 4:19 pm #

Just did the survey! I don’t really “deserve” your iPhone, but I’ll be honest… i just kinda want it! :-)

  233. Amber 9 March 2010 at 4:33 pm #

I did the survey….I’ve been following for quite some time, but I have never commented. I need your iphone, not for me, but for a very special man in my life. His birthday is next month. He gave up his bachelorhood, and devoted his life to a beat down, hurt, scarred single mother. I taught him about a relationship with Jesus, and he lived it out….and he needs a smartphone, because he bought me one for Christmas, and he is the one that deserves it….but he can’t stop giving me things that I don’t deserve, because he just has to be like Jesus…

  234. Travis Williams 9 March 2010 at 4:37 pm #

That survey was a little longer than I anticipated.

    Anywho…

I deserve your iPhone because, as mentioned in my prior email, I paid you twice this week. Well, not me, but the church.

But seriously, I am literally the only person on staff in the Service Programming Department who doesn’t have one. That, and it would be an easy way to convince my wife that we should switch to AT&T. Oh, also, I want the ProPresenter app, just for fun. Oh, and I don’t even have an iPod(yes, I am one of only 25 people in the world who don’t have an iPod). Actually, I’ve never had an iPod. Oh, and I want that little app that you shake the phone and it picks a restaurant for you, that would make life easier.

So there’s a few reasons why I should win your iPhone. I’ve got more if you want them…

  235. Stephanie 9 March 2010 at 4:45 pm #

Interesting questions… I’m curious to know what you glean from the results.

Why do I deserve your iphone? Hmmm… does anyone really deserve an iphone? I guess I would say I would *like* to have one because I can’t pay for one myself (I’m a seminary student and only work part-time) and because I have three jobs on top of being a student and need good way to organize my life. :)

  236. mike 9 March 2010 at 5:32 pm #

    i took the poll.
    consider this…
    1. my wife wrapped up a cardboard promo of an iphone and put it in my christmas stocking. she believes it was the funniest thing ever. my kidsd agree. i disagree and am still nursing my wounds. your old phone would be a marriage/family saver.
    2. a jar now sits beside the same cardboard cutout collecting my extra cash. i’m at $11.52. this rate of saving will take years. your old phone would be a money/time saver.
    3. i’m a youth pastor and was mocked (not the first time or the last) by a student & leader this past weekend for not knowing how to use their itouch. your phone would be a ministry/self-esteem saver.

There are a lot of deserving people on here. But I wouldn’t mind having an iPhone; I would set it next to my LG EnV and make the EnV feel just silly for being a poor excuse for a phone.

Because I’m the only one left who doesn’t have a cell phone!
(I ‘ll also accept the old phone of whoever wins… no, seriously)

I deserve your old iphone, because my old iPhone is on the outs, since I decided to take it into the river with me. Bad idea, but it still works, sorta.

Simply put – My father is Steve Jobs. He dis-owned me because I refused to wear tight Levi jeans from 1995. I also refused to wear, in conjunctionw/ the

system by having someone GIVE it to me. Yes. This is made up, but I am hoping it makes you laugh enough to hook me up w/ the iPhone. Also, I think your
“photoshop” was very “Microsoft Paint-Esque” and I respect that.

    Filled out the poll.
My married daughter would LOVE to have one. That’s all.

Used to have one with previous employment and now I don’t. Enough said.

Because I have two sons in college, one several hours away and he has a crappy i phone and doesn’t stay in touch with me on a regular basis because the phone keeps cutting off. I’m a mom, typical to worry about your kids, but he’s special needs and I REALLY stress when I can’t get a hold of him! Plus he got a 31 on his ACT and deserves it. :-)

I don’t personally need it, but my brother needs a new one. His screen is shattered (still works just hard to see what’s on it and the little silent/ring switch is broken, etc. So I would p
