After reading your blog, and your wife’s blog non-stop for the past two days… I would say hers… I would like to know how she has the energy to do all the amazing stuff she does in a 24 hour time period! I don’t think I do 1/4 of what she does in a day! Very inspiring.
I would say Lance Armstrong. He definitely is a non church leader. I am a cyclist and would like to see how the other half lives. I would also like to see how a professional team gels into a cohesive unit.
I 2nd that! It would be awesome to look through his eyes on the night of a big concert and see what he sees. More than that though, he’s such a powerful voice for so many unheard people. I’m so impressed that he’s used his fame and celebrity status for good. Such responsibility.
If I have to choose someone other than myself (cause I kind of dig the life that I’ve been given – beautiful wife – 3 amazing kids – and all with willing and loving hearts) SO yeah, I really like being me . . but if I have to choose ..
It’d be someone like Darrell Evans or Carlos Whitaker. Amazing abilities, focus for what God wants to do, and the ability to say “I’ll come to your rinky dink SoulQuench. Let me pray about it.” I’d be them and be there when God allowed.
Seth Godin…the dude is brilliant and changes his way of thinking in rapid pace with culture. Though probably the most mind-boggling, it would be one of the most innovative days of my life.
Donald Trump. The dude’s been broke multiple times, filed bankruptcy multiple times and still gets up and makes things happen. I’d like to see what drives him.
President Obama so I could come back and tell my biracial son and my African son that I got to be the first African American bi racial president for a day.
I think most of your commentors didn’t see the “NOT a christian leader” part
oh and FYI, your site takes forever to load on my iPhone.
I would like to live in Howard Shultzs’ shoes. He is the CEO and Founder for Starbucks. People think that Starbucks is just a fad which could be accurate but more important than being a fad Howard wants his company to be excellent. No matter what occupation you are in you you should read his book, “Pour Your Heart Into It”. The above and beyond philosophy that he has ingrained in to the company will take the company far past a fad.
Also, while I was in his shoes I would have have him/myself open a new store on my way to work!
The Roman guard who had his ear cut off and then miraculously healed by Jesus. I mean, how do you go on with the rest of your day after the guy you are taking to his death grabs your bloody ear off the ground, puts it back on your head, and heals you? I mean, why would He do that? Who IS this guy that we are about to send off to this death? And HOW ON EARTH did he just heal my ear? How am I going to explain this to the guys at the bar after work, and how can I explain this to my family once I finally get home tonight? WHO IS THIS JESUS GUY?
To me, that is one of the most powerful moments in the Bible. I still am perplexed as to why Jesus would do that.
Tony Dungy. He is really making amazing things happen in the NFL and making men out of NFL players. He has such a huge stage and he is really radically changing the mindset of many people. I want to know how to do it!!!
Randy Grim (head of stray rescue) so that instead of being a lowly foster parent on the sidelines, for a day I could be out there rescuing the dogs & cats & trying to change policy so so the animals that give so much to our lives can be trated with the respect they deserve.
Just wanted to say hi to Losiah from a fellow adopted Korean! I was adopted in -85 from Seoul to Sweden, and I loved watching your videos of Losiah´s adoption cause it feels like I can relate to it. You seem to be a fantastic family! Lots of hugs from Sweden! /Madeleine (Or in Korean In Hwa)
Sarah Palin. So I could move her to a deserted island where she’d wake up the next day and say…”oh look, I can see water from my front porch”. LOL. (I know…Bad Queenie…hahaha)
I would want to be Steve Carrell for a day and hang out with all the people who make The Office and see if it’s as crazy and fun as I imagine it would be. (totally non-spiritual, I know!)
justin timberlake. seriously, the dude has more talent in his little finger than 90% of the planet! he’s got crazy creativity that i would LOVE to see first hand.
I would love to live in the shoes of Alfred “Eisie” Eisenstaedt. To be able to see first hand the process that he put into his photographs would be awesome.
Jason Fried or David Hansson…I would love to see them put into practice their concepts from REWORK at 37signals! That book is great…but would like to see the practice of it
Chris Martin of Coldplay. I want to feel the music like he does. i mean, he may be faking it, but watching him inspires me. I want to feel the inspiration paired with immense talent and spend a night jamming on the piano.
Maybe the prostitute who approached our vehicle in Otukpo, Nigeria so I could know what was in her past as well as in her heart and mind that ultimately led her to that kind of life. I say “maybe” because I’m not sure I could bear it.
Because I want to know how it feels to fly, dunk in people’s faces, play alongside Scottie Pippen, win championships, and be the best at something rather than sucking.
I think I would more like to be a fly on the wall in one of his meetings. Hes brash I know, but the man knows how to lead, he knows how to create a buzz, and he knows who is audience is. This guy never ceases to amaze me with the way he wants the UFC Fanbase to be happy and to love the product they are buying into. Plus I love MMA.
As a youth minister, I would love to pick the brain of anyone at MTV. They tend to always be on the forefront of youth movements, albeit often negative.
Shane Claiborne- i think he is living an authentic life.
Donald Miller, if he counts.
I’d like to gain his perspective on life, and help the fatherless.
me too! I love him!
Gary Haugen from IJM
http://www.ijm.org
me too!
I would have to say Chuck Norris.
Okay okay… I don’t think I could *handle* being Chuck Norris for a day! LOL… So i’m going to “settle” for Jeremy Camp….cause he “rocks”

Damon Lindelof, creator of LOST. Because then I’d know how it ends.
And I’d get a glimpse into a crazy creative mind.
OOOOOOHH!! Good one.
I dont know how I got here but I decided to stay awhile and read. Its very calming here which is what I really needed. I know I will visit often
Oprah Winfrey. Because she’s seen a lot of perspectives of life due to her TV show.
I would say Lance Armstrong. He definitely is a non church leader. I am a cyclist and would like to see how the other half lives. I would also like to see how a professional team gels into a cohesive unit.
Lady Gaga…just for kicks
YYYEEESSS!!! I do not know you but friend… 100 cool points!!!
I would like to sit down and talk to President Obama if for no other reason than to have him tell me it’s gonna be alright.
Bono on a day when U2 is playing a gig in South America. I want to know what it feels like to rock hundreds of thousands of people.
Isn’t he a church leader
I 2nd that! It would be awesome to look through his eyes on the night of a big concert and see what he sees. More than that though, he’s such a powerful voice for so many unheard people. I’m so impressed that he’s used his fame and celebrity status for good. Such responsibility.

Donald Trump. The dude’s been broke multiple times, filed bankruptcy multiple times and still gets up and makes things happen. I’d like to see what drives him.
Albert Pujols
Forgot my why.
Because he is the best baseball player around and I always had the dream of being a professional baseball player. Pretty easy choice
Um, ditto!
Benjamin Zander, so i could see all the possibilities, and shining eyes. plus he’s forgotten more about music than i’ll ever know.
Johnny Cash. Why? Because he’s Johnny Cash. He’s been everywhere man!
and he’s The Cash. It’s almost like saying he’s The Man (as in that cool dude, not the oppressive government type Man)
i think i would like to be losiah because he have an awesome family and future.
Kudos, Senior/Seniorita Butkis
LOL, TR!!!
President Obama so I could come back and tell my biracial son and my African son that I got to be the first African American bi racial president for a day.
I think most of your commentors didn’t see the “NOT a christian leader” part
oh and FYI, your site takes forever to load on my iPhone.
I believe the question was “non church leader”..
NO ONE HAS SAID STEVE JOBS YET? I’m honestly shocked.
And I really wouldn’t want to to spend a day with Steve but I figure enough church leader/Mac lover people adore the guy that I’ll pick him anyway.
I was thinking the same thing. To have a legion of mac lovers behind me…. lol
President Obama. I’d love to see what his life was really like so I could come back and tell people just how hard it is to be President.
Smoke monster John Locke.
Yes!!!
Bill Gates.
This is why: http://www.thegatesnotes.com/

Guy Kawasaki, love to get in his head and see what makes him tick. Love his creative thinking.
How about living in their sandals for the day?
The Roman guard who had his ear cut off and then miraculously healed by Jesus. I mean, how do you go on with the rest of your day after the guy you are taking to his death grabs your bloody ear off the ground, puts it back on your head, and heals you? Makes you wonder if he became a follower, doesn’t it?
The Superintendent of the school district where I work. I’d fix a few things.
Guy Fieri …Road tripping to cool restaurants all day would be a dream job.
fantastical choice! that would be AMAZING!
Tony Dungy. He is really making amazing things happen in the NFL and making men out of NFL players. He has such a huge stage and he is really radically changing the mindset of many people. I want to know how to do it!!!
Me. Why? I’m the most qualified to be me, and I wouldn’t want to miss what God has planned for my life, not even for a day.
Randy Grim (head of stray rescue) so that instead of being a lowly foster parent on the sidelines, for a day I could be out there rescuing the dogs & cats & trying to change policy so so the animals that give so much to our lives can be trated with the respect they deserve.
Houdini’s wife Bess – to get the secrets
) and also to get inside a creative mind
Just wanted to say hi to Losiah from a fellow adopted Korean! I was adopted in -85 from Seoul to Sweden, and I loved watching your videos of Losiah´s adoption cause it feels like I can relate to it. You seem to be a fantastic family! Lots of hugs from Sweden! /Madeleine (Or in Korean In Hwa)
Sarah Palin. So I could move her to a deserted island where she’d wake up the next day and say…”oh look, I can see water from my front porch”. LOL. (I know…Bad Queenie…hahaha)
Bill Gates (even though I’m a Machead) because giving away large sums of money is the most fun ever.
I would want to be Steve Carrell for a day and hang out with all the people who make The Office and see if it’s as crazy and fun as I imagine it would be. (totally non-spiritual, I know!)
yes!!
Who: Dog the Bounty Hunter.
Why: Duh!
Prince. So I could write, produce, sing and play every instrument on a song… better than anybody else can!
Jon Acuff…I want to learn how to write with the kind of humor and vulnerability he does.
Bono from U2. Because not only is he the frontman of his era, but he is an awesome humanitarian.
Todd Henry – so I could tap into the brain power of the countless creative minds of his minions.
justin timberlake. seriously, the dude has more talent in his little finger than 90% of the planet! he’s got crazy creativity that i would LOVE to see first hand.
Probably one of the people in Hillsong who is not yet a worship leader/soloist but who is not in the choir anymore.
I would love to live in the shoes of Alfred “Eisie” Eisenstaedt. To be able to see first hand the process that he put into his photographs would be awesome.
Jason Fried or David Hansson…I would love to see them put into practice their concepts from REWORK at 37signals! That book is great…but would like to see the practice of it
Paul Hewson – inspired by the world we live in, reflecting the same back to it’s current tenants in ways that open our eyes to the normal.
blake mycoskie, ceo of toms shoes. he is leading a great cause!
I would live in my own shoes for a day. Because no one else could possibly fill them.
without hesitation – Bryan Loritts
Challenging and committed. He can deliver a knockout punch, and you will take it willingly. He is real.
sorry. missed the non church leader part. my bad
Do we really have to limit it to one? Ha.
Justin Timberlake, Bono, Oprah WInfrey… all good choices.
–Terrace Crawford
http://www.terracecrawford.com
http://www.twitter.com/terracecrawford
At the moment it would be Phil Mickelson
His ‘story’ is awesome! He is a man of class and character.
For sure Bill Cosby
Chris Martin of Coldplay. I want to feel the music like he does. i mean, he may be faking it, but watching him inspires me. I want to feel the inspiration paired with immense talent and spend a night jamming on the piano.
p.s. I’m not a musician, but I want to be
.
p.s.s. I doubt he’s faking it
Probably Stevie Wonder. 1: Because he’s got a great message, and 2: because he’s one funky chicken.
Maybe the prostitute who approached our vehicle in Otukpo, Nigeria so I could know what was in her past as well as in her heart and mind that ultimately led her to that kind of life. I say “maybe” because I’m not sure I could bear it.
90′s Michael “Air” Jordan.
Because I want to know how it feels to fly, dunk in people’s faces, play alongside Scottie Pippen, win championships, and be the best at something rather than sucking.
The older John Wayne.
He had been through failed relationships and a fight with cancer.
Like Solomon he understood folly.
He also saw an America as what it could be. I think I need a little of that now…
My dad, so I could better understand his heart and some of the reasons behind our crazy life.
I’ll take Bono too, but, I’d want it to be a full day of light travel, political interface, sound check and then a stadium show that night.
Joel Osteen…I kid, I kid.
As a youth minister, I would love to pick the brain of anyone at MTV. They tend to always be on the forefront of youth movements, albeit often negative.
Pete Souza, white house photographer. Also a graduate of Kansas State University, my part-time employer, alma mater.
Click on my name to see Pete’s site.
This changes frequently, but right now it would be Katie Davis, missionary to Uganda and founder of Amazima Ministries.
Check it out. Her story is constantly rocking my world.
Her blog: http://kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com/
