You Chose Me – Fatherhood

Posted on 05. Apr, 2010 by loswhit in Family, fatherhood

Easter4
So yesterday was Easter.
I learned that Jesus had an option.
Choose me…or not.
He chose me.
Every morning, when with your classic Elmo voice, you choose to say “Wake Up Daddy!”, and you choose to love me, I see that love from Christ all over again.
I thought I chose you, but in all reality…

You chose me, and choose me everyday.
Thanks son.
Dad

Tons of Theological thoughts in there…but in this case I think looking at children and what they can teach us about love is beautiful.

    this is so gorgeous.

He chose us, yet in HIs love allows us to freely chose Him. nothing is forced, and even when we say ‘no’ He choses to love us again and again.

your heart is beautiful! thank you.

as a child, i never felt chosen by my family…it’s nice to have the chance now to do the opposite with my kids. and they keep choosing me even when i act like an idiot.

carlos, i think that people are better parents & nicer to Christians because of you…we started the adoption process because of your videos about Losiah…THANK YOU!

and on a completely different note, my son wore the same thing yesterday…thanks H&M…haha!

Never understood just how massive the sacrifice was for God to send his son instead of doing the work himself until I became a daddy. It’s easy to sacrifice yourself, it’s next to impossible to sacrifice your son.

      Matt~
I couldn’t agree more! I sit in the hospital room with our youngest daughter who had emergent appendectomy yesterday. The whole process from making the call to go to the ER to the various testing to signing consent for surgery to watching her being wheeled away just gives me a little taste of what God felt watching us torture HIS son for our salvation. My husband and I both wanted to trade places…

Wow, I was so moved by what you shared…
Such a beautiful relationship between you and your son. And it’s an honest look at the loving and adoring relationship between the Christ and His Father. We remember how Jesus died on the cross because He loved us so much, but too often we neglect to remember that He also endured it all because of His love for His Father.

    Thanks for this post.

this is one of your posts that makes my eyes wet.
you know what else is very true carlos. YOU choose your family on a daily basis. don’t over look that my friend.
p.s. i just noticed your PO box is the same as my street address! how random. the chances of that happening are next to none!
    miss y’all.

i keep thinking as i read this… did Jesus choose the Father too when wrestling in the Garden? so just as God chooses us… do we get to choose the Father back when we come to our own “garden experiences”

what a beautiful thought to think that God gives us the freedom to choose Him back. oooo i get tingles thinking about that :) THAT is twuuu – wuvvv :)
