I Need A New Preacher
I’m in the grind. I get to see lot’s of the same peeps give lots of the same amazing talks.
Kinda like my setlist.
I’ve got one that I kill. So I do it over and over again because I’m in front of different people all the time.
Makes sense.
But I want to know…
Who is a preacher that we might not have heard of that has been killing it as of late?
Los
Oh. And leave us a link to!

I love Chris Ruppe at http://www.northrockhill.com. My favorite series so far are the Sex/Love/God and What If.
I may be a little biased, and we don’t have video (just audio and text), but our Senior Pastor, Mike Edmisten has been absolutely destroying it lately.
The series we’re in right now, “Man Up,” has really hit me hard as a guy trying not to screw things up. He doesn’t pull any punches…let’s put it that way.
http://www.ameliachurchofchrist.com
http://www.mikeedmisten.com
Timmy Straight from Healing Place in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Really a great communicator and pastor!
I’m sort of partial to my old man…
http://newsong.wordpress.com/links/sermon/
But that’s assuming you’ve already heard of my man Erwin McManus.
Paul White, some good messages of grace.
@dimai really brought it last week at Sandals.
RICK SHELTON. if you dont know. u need to know!
Bill Johnson, Senior Pastor Bethel Church Redding CA. http://ibethel.tv
You’ve heard of him, but you should be listening to Tim Keller. He’s today’s CS Lewis.
Click it, man.
Matt Chandler from The Village Church in Texas. Solid preacher, funny, true to the Word
http://www.thevillagechurch.net or find him on iTunes
check out pastor mike robertson @ v1ag.com. current series, “mindmonsters” or Joel stockstill
Matchbox Ministries – Bryan Roe
LOVE his messages! You can hear some here: http://matchboxonline.org/sermons.html (select sermons by Bryan Roe)

David Platt has an AMAZING series that he preached a while back called ‘What the Gospel Demands’ that he preached from 9/6/08-10/25/08. It’s completely rocking my world right now.

Podcast link – http://itunes.apple.com/podcast/brook-hills-audio/id319699838
I also preached a short sermon on Orphan Sunday at our church about God’s call to Orphan Care:

Hope that helps!
I’m a big fan of Ed Newton…
http://www.ednewton.org/media.php
I am just finishing up a week long conference with Dr. Arturo Azurdia. If you want funny, feel good theology, this ain’t the guy. If you are looking for solid, life changing biblical truth then sit down, strap in and hold tight, ’cause you’re world is about to be rocked.
If you lead, teach on or participate in worship in any means, you need to hear his study on Psalms 100.
http://www.monergism.com/directory/link_category/Audio-and-Multimedia/Speakers-Lectures-and-Sermons/Arturo-G-Azurdia-III/
My pastor Rodney Arnold at OneLife Church here in Knoxville has been killing it as of late, particularly in the All-American Family Feud and Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll series.

From what I’ve been told Pastor Steven Furtick is also a fan. The Seacoast series “I Have Some Questions” is also based on a series he preached. (http://www.seacoast.org/questions)
As you can tell I am a big fan, like most others with their pastors! Its the way it should be.
Definitely…. Check him out!

The other link is bad…
Justin Anderson http://www.praxischurch.com
since i’ll see him in a few days, there’s a great pastor out in California right now named Steve Carter. he’s kind of a baller; a great guy speaks great words. he worked at mars hill with the kids, students, and college ministries.
I don’t think he has an active blog anymore, but his wife does.
http://cartersgroundswell.blogspot.com/
his blog was
http://www.stevecarter.typepad.com/
Steve Carter is on staff at Rock Harbour in costa mesa, Cali. he’s speaking right now at a Christian camp in Indiana. That Thing 2010. the unstoppable hope. it’s fire so far.
http://www.rockharbor.org/resources/messages/
Ray Johnston (twitter @rayjohnston) is rockin it in Northern California. Preacher of the Word but down to earth cool guy. When a lot of other churches are looking for the next social hot topic, he relies on the Word for the base of his teaching. To some it might sound trivial but we’re going straight through the New Testament, 1 week = 1 book. It’s been great. He applies the Bible to everyday life experiences.
Rick Blackwood. Solid. Humble.
http://vimeo.com/11821957
I don’t know about “as of late” but I keep about 20 of MLK’s sermons on my iPod for when I need some preaching. His preaching does not get enough cred. The man could bring it.
My faves are…
Chris Brown & Larry Osborne from North Coast Church in Vista.
I’ve had a couple “barn burners” lately myself tho
vimeo.com/lovehopecity.
Chris Brown – awesome. He does an occasional sermon at our church in Granite Bay. Here is a sample:
http://www.baysideonline.com/13256/five-questions-got-faith-podcast/
Matt Carder of CommonWay Church. He is simply an amazing man, an amazing pastor, and an amazing speaker. I am blessed to call him my friend, and blessed to be a part of his story.
Goto the link below and goto the sermon for 2/28/2010

In my 29 years, I have never been so simultaneously encouraged and challenged by a pastor like I have been with John Lindell at James River Assembly!
RIght now he’s in Ephesians…

David Platt~ don’t know who’s heard, but probably have….
The Church at Brook Hills.
Radical Series.
I say no more than that
http://www.brookhills.org/media/series/radical/
Amen. Amen. Amen.
That series is on Point. His last secret church series was great. On the 3rd read of his book… i love these guys who just focus on the truth…
Yes, yes yes. Listen to anything you can get your hands on by David Platt.

Charlie Mackesy @ HTB, London, UK

I second the person above who said Bill Johnson. Check out iBethel TV or the weekly “sermon of the week” podcast from Bethel Church in Redding. Profound revelation!
I will also encourage some Bill Johnson. I’m at Bethel right now for their worship school and there is some crazy annointing over the teaching of the pastoral teams here. And this is comming from the conservative Baptist kid who is way outside of his element.
haha! I love it! I was also a ‘conservative Baptist girl’ until I got rocked by the Holy Spirit. His presence is amazing. I’m learning so much right now about the prophetic, worship, and just enjoying Him! That is so awesome that you are at the worship school right now. It looks like it’s amazing!
I only get to watch via DVD lately, but Scot Longyear from Maryland Community Church has been bringin it for years!!
http://www.mccth.org
Pastor Sam Ford Damascus road road church! Marysville, wa
I would have to say that one pastor who has been killing it lately would be Michael Lukaszewski at Oak Leaf Church in Cartersville, GA. It was hard for me to find something similar to him or even my church when i went to college, but I’m thankful that we now broadcast via the web.
http://www.oakleafchurch.com/index.html
Tony Wood and Ronny Roa from Generate in Corona.
Mark Moore (preacher & professor at Ozark Christian College). Mark has his class lectures and sermons on his site; this link is too his sermons.

I will definitely second this one. Absolutely
I give this one a triple thumbs up…what’s that – I only have two thumbs? Then two thumbs and a big toe. Mark Moore brings it.
I second (third, fourth… millionth) David Platt of Brook Hills in B’ham, AL.
http://www.brookhills.org/media

Check out Rob Bugh at Wheaton Bible Church – been killing it lately. We just finished a series on the Parables. They ALL rocked…just saying
Noel Heikkinen at http://www.rivchurch.com He’s been killing it for years.
Paul Washer, the way he speaks is powerful. He is not flashy or entertaining but the way he speaks about God and Jesus and the Gospel is truly convicting.
http://www.heartcrymissionary.com/
I was waiting for somebody to mention Brother Paul =)
I second Paul Washer! His “shocking message” was what God used to totally change my life. He doesn’t worry about being popular, he is just 100% faithful to glorifying God and making Him known.
The work that Heart Cry does is just amazing, too. Definitely check them out!
Tim Grandstaff at Genesis church. Oh man. Some of the sermons he gave on the mission trip I went on WERE AMAZING.
http://genesischurchorlando.com/media/teachings/
Good stuff. I need to add some of his it to my iPod.
No JOHN PIPER yet? He’s my number one. Then Tim Keller. Then Mark Driscoll. Then Matt Chandler and Francis Chan. Do it.
Our pastor at Church on the Eastern Shore in Fairhope, AL, is solid. His Father’s Day message, “Band of Brothers” was amazing. I was ready to gather a bunch of guys together and take on Hell!

Los, seriously, look into this guy. I’ve never even seen him, I listen to the church’s podcast, and I feel like I’ve known him for years.
Talk about authenticity, he embodies it.
Check out my good friend Jonathan Pokluda. He leads a gathering of Young Adults here in Dallas called “The Porch” which is a ministry of Watermark Community Church. You can find most of his sermons at http://www.theporchdallas.com and a few more at http://www.watermarkradio.com or you can download the Watermark Community Church App for your iPhone and find all of his stuff there.
Yes! Was going to say the same about Jonathan Pokluda. Great young communicator.
AJ Thomas at Deep Water Church in Halifax, NS

I agree….My wife and I were in NYC a about a month ago and went to Forefront….Awesome message and they seem to be reaching the NYC community very well.
Rob Pendley, @cccgainesville, is the pastor of a PCA church in Gainesville, FL. What I love about Rob is that no matter what the sub-subject of his sermon is, the real subject, the heart of it, what he *always* comes back to is Christ. It’s never a sermon with Christian flavorings– it’s always a sermon with Christ. Check out his audio here: http://cccgainesville.com/#/resources
Ben Stewart From Breakaway Ministries

Our pastor is finishing up a series around family. Great stuff from the last few weeks. On June 13, he was absent and my friend and prayer parter preached Ephesians 6:1-4 centered on fathers not exasperating their children. AWESOME You should at least listen to that one, but Dewayne our pastor has done a great job, too!

I go to the Summit and JD has some of the most relevant and powerful messages. They all seem to affect my life someway or another. He is not afraid to say what needs to be said to get people to realize they need Jesus.
Tommy Sparger in Springfield, Missouri.

Wow – not a woman in this whole list.
Why do you think that is?
My youth pastor, Danny Anderson took over my home church’s leadership and they’ve experienced explosive growth. He’s always been a super-passionate communicator of God’s truth (or whatever book he’s reading). Their video podcast is at http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/emmanuel-church-greenwood/id159226549

Kris Valloton. One of the lead pastors at Bethel Church in Redding, CA. He ALWAYS melts my face off!!!!!! He’s hilarious and ridiculously good. Any of the pastors from there though, really, will rock your world.
http://www.kvministries.com/
I think it is down right amazing how much content we have at our fingertips! To look at this list and think, 10-15 years ago there was your own pastor and then 3-4 decent guys on the radio… unbelievable! It’s good to remember too that with greater access to truth comes greater responsibility to apply truth.
Anyway, love James MacDonald… Walk in the Word podcast style. Dynamnic, grounded, hold nothing back…
Allistair Begg is too… just a little more heady…
MIKE BICKLE!!! International House of Prayer!
Josh Lindstrom at Salem Chapel, NC.

What else could you want than a preacher diagnosed as bipolar who is under treatment, feeling strong and just preached his mother’s funeral on July 11? I do prefer a meaningful liturgy and a sermon that helps you feel so comfortable before the scripture slides the chair out from under you but the responsorial song/hymn gets you back up on your feet and ready to love again….
That’s me…
Reverend Dave
Pastor Dave
