Creation, 40,000 plus, and Your Bucket
This is where I have been the last few days.
These pics are from the Local Lancaster newspaper.
The fact that 2 of the 5 pictures feature former California Baptist University students (me and Andrew Shirley from Switchfoot) must say something for the school right?
OK. Maybe not.
It seriously was an epic 2 days.
This festival is the most organized thing I have ever been a part of. Amazing people.
For me, I have always wanted to play in front of 40,000 people. And I finally did that.
It has been on my bucket list for a long time.
Call it silly. Call it stupid. Call it whatever.
But I scratched it off the list.
What is something that is on your bucket list that you want to do before you die?
Los
Oh. And I would have to disagree with that afro kid. I mean I’m glad it rocks for him. But my shirt as a married man says something different.

Happy to hear you had a great time at Creation! We love Creation…although we weren’t there this year. And the weather has been PERFECT. But are you sure there were only 20,000 people…usually they have around 50,000 or more in attendance! Love the pictures, thanks for sharing.
climb mt. everest. oh and i’m with ya on the shirt. as a married guy, i now know that virginity does not rock.
Something I got to do that was on my bucket list was learning how to juggle.
I learned a few summers ago when I volunteered to work at my church’s VBS. I got put as an assistant in the skills area, and one of the activities one day was learning to juggle. Having it explained to me 6 times made it really easy to actually do it and now I can. I was super excited to get to learn.
what an exciting performance for you!! looked like great fun!
My list has had the item “visit Paris” since I was age 12. Now I’m adding “visit Sweden to see where my family came from” and “return to Korea where I was a missionary kid” as well. Oh…and I’d like to marry as well and find out for myself how virginity does not rock!
I want to Base jump with a birdman suit in Norway.
I also want to see a generation of men in the US on fire for God.
The former is probably safer than the later.
CR
You should have stayed for the whole thing! Im going to be there tomorrow! I havent been to Creation since I was 16 and in youth group. Now I’m a leader in my youth group and get to take our kids there. Pretty ecxcited!
Love seeing pics of Creation at Agape Farm…has a special place for my wife and I, it’s where we met (13 years ago this week).
I wrote a song about it, like to hear it, hear it goes: (ok, actually it’s a blog post, but it’s a cool story anyway)
How Bryan Met Erica
It blows my mind that you were there. I’ve been ‘following’ you for just a little bit, and this is SOO close to where I live. Had I paid attention, I could’ve come to watch you perform/meet you in person.
I want to punch out a bear before i die. It’s the simple things in life.
That’s hardcore.
My husband and I went to Creation 3 years ago (couldn’t have picked the year you came huh?). We had the best time! It is very well organized and I was very impressed. I hope to get back there some day!
Meet Bono
I’ve always wanted to record in Nashville, and I’ll be scratching that off next week! Super excited about that.
Not yet scratched- adopt a child internationally and domesticall, and meet any US President.
Josh,
Hope you will post when you get to do the other things. Adoption is the best life changing event of my life!
Once my kids grow up and get out of the house I want to go back to school, culinary School. Preferably the Culinary Institute of America in NY.
I also want to adopt a child from Uganda. And Asia. And Russia. Ok so maybe a child from every race.
Um, I thought the afro kid was a “she”. No?
I thought that was an afro girl.
Congrats Los on having a dream fulfilled. My one thing would be to ride my bicycle cross country. I wanted to do that before I turned 50 but since I am 57 (almost 58) it didn’t happen. But it is never too late.
Awesome! One more thing done on your bucket list in 2010!! I would love to run a marathon..that’s what I would like to cross of my bucket list!
WAIT… I meant to put MEET YOU…yeah, that’s what I meant!!
dance for God.
Los- you need to come rock out at Alive next summer in Ohio… the mid-west would never be the same. Ha!
hey man, Larry Tran and I went to college together. he actually “taught” me my freshman year. i use that term loosely. we played beach volleyball together too. glad to see yall at Creation! yall did an amazing job!
Hike to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.
Would have to say travel to Scotland. My parents had a friend when I was growing up that was from there and he had the coolest accent and the most beautiful pictures of his homeland that I have ever seen. Someday…
Oh, and sing with Los!
)
I had a vivid dream (10 years ago) that I was leading worship in Israel in an ancient amphitheater. I would like to Jesus make that a reality.
I don’t have a Bucket List. I suppose I better work on that!
I did want to accomplish something this summer and that was seeing you perform live and meeting you, which I did.
re: bucket list — i thought about this recently due to a health scare — what do I really want? Not that i haven’t asked that before. i’m a pretty content person, and therefore feel a certain cultural guilt that i don’t have a bucket list. But then the health scare. And the answer came to me with a *POW* — What I want … is to die like Moses. He died with vitality and health. (the health scare turned out to be nothing, but at least it helped me figure out what I want).
I gotta know since no one else is asking and you brought it up…
What exactly does your married person’s shirt say?
Sex rules?! Doin’ it and doin’ it and doin’ it well?
CalBap FTW!!!
And go to a World Cup game. Any World Cup game. I might even settle for a qualifier.
yes virginity rocks (until you’re married).
before I die i want to go to Italy.
A friend and I are planning to bike around the whole coast of Iceland a year before I graduate highscool…. I also want to write at least 50 songs before I die
What to choose?? I would like to sit in the front row for a big designer at fashion week, go to new York during Christmas time, go to India for a mission trip, DEFINITELY go to Italy with just my hubby….these are a few of the bigger ones.
Rocking with 40,000 is on my list too.
All I have to say Los is Cal Baptist has a great footba…….oh wait thats right.
A-P-U! A-P-U! A-P-U! Loving all you do, keep it up!
As for whats one my bucket list: Open a non-profit hang out for youth, and go to New Zealand. Just to name a few.
You know Andrew Shirley?! NO WAY.
I hung out with him and Jenna before they tied the knot. He was in All Together Separate and I dated one the guys in the band.
Whoa, did I say that outloud? I feel like a groupie.
Let me go bathe myself now…
Answer to the bucket list question:
One thing I have not yet experienced:
I want to receive flowers. I never have.
I have a whole list of things I have not yet experienced in a post.
Love your blog! And I’m glad to hear that the concert went well!
