I’d check out Pete Buncher debut CD “Come to me with hope”

It’s deep and delicious, he’s one of the best guitar players I’ve ever heard.

Aussie rockers The Living End’s album White Noise – not Chrsitian but awesome rock and lyrics that give insight into those exposed to ‘religion’ but not quite sure what to make of it

  16. derekmswanson 22 July 2010 at 6:17 pm #

Audrey Assad – The House Your Building. Great album.

Band of Horses is a modern day Crosby, Stills, and Nash.

Grace Potter can flat out sing.

Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros is great.

Also try Mew, for something a little different.

  24. Matt 22 July 2010 at 6:38 pm #

Mumford and Sons is great, but I’m going to repeat what I said on twitter. William Fitzsimmons. Dude was born to two blind parents. Has a pretty awesome story. And again…look at his beard!!!

    • Dale 22 July 2010 at 8:52 pm #

I said Mumford and Sons on Twitter, but I’d agree William Fitzsimmons as being simply stellar!

  25. Mallorie 22 July 2010 at 6:40 pm #

  28. Jon Smith 22 July 2010 at 6:58 pm #

Thad Cockrell – “To Be Loved”

It’s a mix of The Civil Wars, Ron Sexsmith, and my granddad’s gospel quartet. Seriously.

Check out Rosalyn, Beauty Has a Name, and The Master’s Calling.

  42. David 23 July 2010 at 1:04 am #

Big fan of Mumford & Sons but since they’ve been mentioned a couple times I will throw out some local SF flavor….The Shotgun Wedding Quintet. They are a jazz hip-hop fusion band. Caution: they use boys locker room language.

  43. Josh 23 July 2010 at 2:19 am #

    Jeremy Casella – RCVRY

Doug Burr- The Shawl (word for word Psalms)

Doug Burr – O Ye Devastator

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben. 1970′s Brazilian soul/funk. I got this about 4 months ago and have not stopped listening to it. It’s so good Rod Stewart infringed on his copyright.

    i’ll guarantee you’ll likey. :)

Phosphorescent’s Here’s to Taking it Easy seems to be universally loved by cool people but in the interest of full disclosure I haven’t spent my $8.99 for it yet. S. Carey’s All We Grow is disqualified since it doesn’t drop for another month but if the rest of the album is anything like the one track I heard I’ll be buying it. He’s The drummer from Bon Iver if you’re into that sort of thing.

  50. Greg 23 July 2010 at 9:59 am #

    That most people wouldn’t know?
    Isa Couvertier “In The Waiting”
    Ian McIntosh “Awakened”
Cory Asbury “Let me See Your Eyes”
    Pat Green “Three Days”
Adam Cates “Nights At The Big House”

Of course, I totally agree on the JMM…we go way back. Do yourself a favor and try to find “The Song Inside The Sounds Of Breaking Down”, which was where “How He Loves” was first released…This CD is packed FULL of great songs from John Mark McMillan.

  51. Kevin H 23 July 2010 at 12:11 pm #

    Gungor’s “Beautiful Things”

  52. Shayne 23 July 2010 at 1:08 pm #

  58. Jeremy Campbell 24 July 2010 at 10:13 am #

John mark mcmillan the medicine……he wrote how he loves..it gives the story and most people think kim walker or david crowder wrote it…awesome story though, and the guy has a different sounding voice and good lyrics

Shad – Old Prince Lives At Home (Great Hip Hop Album)
Mumford and Sons – Sign No More (Super awesome)
Josh Ritter – The Curse (Great story writing in his lyrics)

Though I hear they’re working on their next album, I’d have to say Clemency’s “Vapors”.

    Also, anything by Paper Tongues.

Last but not least – “The Gun Show” from Heath McNease.

  65. stephanie 26 July 2010 at 10:26 pm #

Roots and Wings by Chad Strader, a Christian rocker. The first track “I Have Been saved” is his salvation experience.
