Your Power Song

heman

I need to update my workout playlist.
So, When it’s time.
Time to push past the weakness.
Time to lift 3 more reps.
Time to run 500 more yards.
What is the song that you turn on to get you there?
Los

I have to admit- Britney Spears “Toxic” gets me through the last few minutes. Lol!

Lose Control – Missy Elliott. Every time.

    • Niki Boggs 8 September 2010 at 11:11 am #

I’m with you!! Actually anything “Missy” gets me going!

Decode by Paramore. 164bpm if you double the tempo. Or occasionally, A Beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds to Mars 160bpm.

    • Gareth 8 September 2010 at 4:17 am #

Great for running not sure about gym stuff etc…

      • Christie 8 September 2010 at 7:30 pm #

I totally have both of these on my ipod and listen to them while I work out! I love Paramore and 30STM.

      • Cortney 11 September 2010 at 10:48 am #

I’ve heard about a program that allows you to up the bpm but not found it anywhere. Is it something that is simple or do we need to be a tech whiz? I’m in need of some faster tempo christian running music for sure!

repeterbeater by mew- makes time fly.

  5. Zack (@zacharyb) 8 September 2010 at 7:13 am #

“Came To My Rescue” by Hillsong United is slow to get going, but the second half makes me kick it up two notches.

Also, most of Skillet’s second-to-last album. “Better Than Drugs” and a few others will shave some time off a run.

  6. Dale 8 September 2010 at 7:47 am #

Well I’m not sure how it gets any better than “Tiny Dancer” when you need that little extra push.

    • Niki Boggs 8 September 2010 at 10:44 am #

      Baaahaha!

“Superstar (Eyes Off Me)” by Trip Lee, or “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor. Always gets my heart pumped for that last hill, or those last few lifts.
Zach, I’d forgotten how much I loved working to the Skillet album. I’ll have to use that again.

Tuesday BOTH my mp3 player and my iPod were dead. I was like “oh no, how am I going to exercise w/o my tunes?!?” (i was freaking out)… felt like God was pushing me to exercise w/o noise in my brain.

I ran just as far, stair-mastered 10 minutes more, and my brain was more clear at the end of it.

But tonight I go back to the tunes. Victor Calderone and some other fun remixes :)
