Your Power Song
I need to update my workout playlist.
So, When it’s time.
Time to push past the weakness.
Time to lift 3 more reps.
Time to run 500 more yards.
What is the song that you turn on to get you there?
Los

I have to admit- Britney Spears “Toxic” gets me through the last few minutes. Lol!
Lose Control – Missy Elliott. Every time.
I’m with you!! Actually anything “Missy” gets me going!
Decode by Paramore. 164bpm if you double the tempo. Or occasionally, A Beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds to Mars 160bpm.
Great for running not sure about gym stuff etc…
I totally have both of these on my ipod and listen to them while I work out! I love Paramore and 30STM.
I’ve heard about a program that allows you to up the bpm but not found it anywhere. Is it something that is simple or do we need to be a tech whiz? I’m in need of some faster tempo christian running music for sure!
repeterbeater by mew- makes time fly.
“Came To My Rescue” by Hillsong United is slow to get going, but the second half makes me kick it up two notches.
Also, most of Skillet’s second-to-last album. “Better Than Drugs” and a few others will shave some time off a run.
Well I’m not sure how it gets any better than “Tiny Dancer” when you need that little extra push.
Baaahaha!
Actually I can work out to the live version of Funeral for a Friend.
Recently: Maps & Atlases – “Living Decorations”
(not-so) Recently: Common Market – “Connect For”
College: Sublime – “Santeria”
Here is one more:
High School: SFC – “Freedom In Captivity”
“Superstar (Eyes Off Me)” by Trip Lee, or “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor. Always gets my heart pumped for that last hill, or those last few lifts.
Zach, I’d forgotten how much I loved working to the Skillet album. I’ll have to use that again.
The Melvins – The Water Glass
Military style cadence and awesome riffs.
Radio Nowhere- Springsteen
For running, “Such Great Heights” by The Postal Service is pretty close to perfect. For biking, I like “Beverly Hills” by Weezer. Honestly, “Can’t Start This Fight” is pretty good, too.

“Eye of the tiger” will get you going every time. Yo Adrian!
@Jess – yeah – i was gonna put that one on…. classic.
Agreed. Or just watch Rocky III!
I’m Every Woman – as recorded by Whitney Houston.
Although I have a feeling…that’s not gonna make it to your playlist.
Solid Rock. Bob Dylan.
My Hero – Foo Fighters. Drums kick in and I get a second wind!
“Bling” by the Killers or “Stronger” by Kanye usually works for me.
“Fever” by Family Force 5 gets it done for me. That, or “My God” by This Beautiful Republic.

just the other day, my shuffle was beginning to disappoint me and all of a sudden, “south town” by P.O.D. kicked in. Those guys never leave you hanging when the sweat is pouring and the tank is on empty. Awesome.
“Set It Off” by P.O.D.! If I am out of juice and this comes on I can push those last few reps, it is a great workout tune.
I promise this song will get you going, it is my magic workout song:
Pretty Handsome Awkward – The Used
Hysteria, Stockholm Syndrome, Map of the Problematique, or pretty much anything by Muse.
Latest addition to my workout playlist is Anberlin’s “We Owe This To Ourselves”
“I Bet That You Look Good On The Dance Floor” by the Arctic Monkeys.
I just broke my keyboard typing it in…just hearing the song in my head gives me strength.

I tend to go with pretty much anything by Demon Hunter when I’m working out. Something about metal that drives me to try and finish strong. Lifewar, Not Ready to Die and Storm the Gates of Hell are all ones that seem to do the trick.
I put on “Not forgotten” by Israel. Also, I don’t know where to find it, but air1.com apparently now has a workout mix…might be worth checking into…

Haven’t worked out to it yet, but the new DC*B song for Baylor football is helping my kids get out of bed in the morning. Love it.
Oh, and the obvious choice, It’s Gonna Worth It.
It’s Gonna BE Worth It. And there goes my funny.
“Call Me When You’re Sober” by Evanescence works wonders for me
Gifted by N.A.S.A ft. Kanye, Santigold, & Lykke Li.
You’ll thank me later.

I have a live version that is 14 minutes long. It’s incredible to bike to.

Tuesday BOTH my mp3 player and my iPod were dead. I was like “oh no, how am I going to exercise w/o my tunes?!?” (i was freaking out)… felt like God was pushing me to exercise w/o noise in my brain.
I ran just as far, stair-mastered 10 minutes more, and my brain was more clear at the end of it.
But tonight I go back to the tunes. Victor Calderone and some other fun remixes
