Your Recovery
After a super high emotional and spiritual experience helping out at Catalyst West Coast, I slept a solid 12 hours and just woke up. I’m going to the beach today and I’m going to watch Ferris Buellers Day Off later. This is what I always do to refresh.
What is your post spiritual and emotional high refreshment agenda?
How do you refill?
Los

Watch baseball and drink lots of lemonade
Go for a bike ride, watch a documentary, read surfer mag while smoking a stogie on the porch.
Haven’t had a spiritual or emotional high in a while.
Sad to say, but the truth is the truth.
sleep. review. repeat. talk things out. write things out.
write. and sleep a lot if it’s been a long trip. and get chicken from bojangles if we’ve been out of the country!
Drink a nice hot cup of Green tea.
And remember, you can’t undo those miles on your car if you drive it in reverse!
WRITE! talk with friends about God, listen to music, compose, practice, talk with friends some more about God, read my Bible

Had a great conversation on the way back–personal insights, theology, and pragmatic, “what’s next?”
Today, laundry, rehearsal, unpacking both figuratively and literally.
Oh, and I forgot…nap!
Make plans to revisit what just happened. Get home. Clean up, unpack. Get out the guitar and hit some worship time. Then, movie and relax with my bride.
I haven’t had one for a while, but i need a 1/2 day to just relax and hang around in sweats and think… but then I need someone who was there to decompress mentally with!
I get lost in my journal.
I also make jokes and laugh a lot. I feel like it’s refreshing to walk away from a powerful spiritual experience and remind yourself that life is fun.
I try to trick it up and keep it fresh. Sometimes it’s writing, sometimes it’s roadtrips back home to Oklahoma, sometimes it’s just taking a nap. I recharge just being around my 19-month-old nephew and watching him.
Glad you’re getting to do this Los.
usually have to sleep and get lost in some mindless TV for a while. Sometimes I just have to shut off the brain.
Sit in my room for an hour hour or so and read.
Enjoy the beach Carlos! That’s my favorite spot, too!
I like to enjoy some time with my family or if their napping I hit some call of duty: black ops on Wii

unfortunately, I normally crash emotionally and spiritually. Instead of loving on what God did, I hit this horrible spiral of self-loathing and frustration. I am a worship leader, and when things go wrong, I wear them on my shoulders heavily. Once my wife and I pray out of that, I refresh with some reading, some time in my journal, and If I can get away for a while, some time in the mountains.
Ps3 and sunkist prunes. seriously…ask my wife.
Don’t borrow anyone’s Ferrari, that will stress you out more.
just love .
Spend time alone usually go on a photo excursion and journal.
Drive around for a while on mountain back roads w/ my wife.
beer and thai food when i wake up. is it still considered breakfast if it’s 1:15?
To refresh I usually grab a beer and watch a movie at home or something. My favorite vacation destination to really refresh is Winter Park, CO. I love to ski and when I go to Winter Park… I go to the top of the mountain (12,060 ft) and just look out over everything God has created. Up there… at the summit of the mountain in Winter Park is my favorite place in the whole world. I can not wait to go back. A year from this month I should be there.
Read Psalms and play with my kids. Love it.
