Those are the posts that got me hooked on your blog and Heather’s :-) Funny how small the world is as I’m in Central Ca, and have actually had the chance to run into you guys! LOVE these vids! (And the Los and Losiah show too)

    I was there.

Began our adoption process for our super beautiful Ethiopian son shortly thereafter. (http://bit.ly/ftlK9Z)

    Peace.

Pretty sure I jumped aboard somewhere in the middle, but I do remember these vids.

Can’t believe that was 4 years ago.

Happy Birthday to the cutest Korean kid ever!

  6. @Wanida 7 April 2011 at 1:45 am #

I watched the vids and shared your story this side of the pond.

Remember it just like it was yesterday.

I wasn’t reading back then but when my husband and I first started exploring international adoption I found your blog and spent an entire afternoon watching them. Loved getting a glimpse into your story – it was very inspiring for us!

I was there. My wife and I cried our way through your series of videos… Has it really been 4 years ago? Ah, adoption videos, Creative Chaos, RagamuffinTop Challenges, live streaming ping pong games from your basement… Those were the days…

Present! I remember your garage sale, the little notebook Heather wrote his name down in when y’all found out, and watched the videos everyday. We were adopting from ET at the time, so I was enthralled.

  12. Anna Marinelli 7 April 2011 at 8:30 am #

I joined you not long after, but that series definately got me hooked. Your whole family are adorable, but I am aghast that he’s now 5!! Wasn’t Heather just blogging about him going through the terrible two’s?

  13. Kaela 7 April 2011 at 8:39 am #

It’s those videos that got me started!

  14. Ben 7 April 2011 at 8:53 am #

Wasn’t there 4 years ago, but when I found your site last year those videos definitely played a small part in our journey to adoption.

    Thanks ‘los/losiah.

    I was here. Lurking.
A man with a family who loves him is blessed indeed.

  17. Paul 7 April 2011 at 10:26 am #

I wasn’t here, but it was these videos that brought me here. The videos have really helped me get through the wait we’re going through during our adoption.

  18. Jessica E 7 April 2011 at 10:44 am #

Me! Watched all the videos again and crying all over again. You and Heather inspired our family to adopt our 4th child. We are adopting through the foster system. Thank you for sharing your life & family with us.

  19. Tapper 7 April 2011 at 11:24 am #

I adopted by son in 1984. It was such a special moment for us.
Were you there? Why not? It mean the world to me.
    This post is a joke.

Not there then, but when I found you, and watched those videos, it brought back memories of when we traveled to Korea(twice) to bring home our son(Jack, almost 11) and our daughter(Sarah, just 9). One thing that these videos have done have given J&S an inside look at Holt Korea, since their parents didn’t take a video camera! Thanks for blessing my kids by sharing Los…and happy happy Gotcha Day to Losiah! God’s blessings on all of you!

Mom to 2 of the cutest Korean children ever…but I have never met one who isn’t perfect! :)

I was here, but being a turkey lurkey. I love all the videos. Loved re-visiting them- also think it’s great that you captured it and are sharing it with your community. Love is meant to be shared.

    I was.

  23. Tasha 7 April 2011 at 11:54 am #

I have some great photos from lunch at CPK when we got to meet Losiah. I’ll have to find them and send them to you & heather.
Love you guys. Miss hearing your laugh from across the office.

    hugs&kisses-tasha

p.s. give the kids some tickle-monster sessions from me. ;-)

  24. Graham 7 April 2011 at 12:37 pm #

I wasn’t reading back then but I did find these videos about a year or so ago. Good stuff!

    He has grown so much!

  25. Martha 7 April 2011 at 12:39 pm #

Lurker then and still mostly a lurker now. Although, we do talk about your family as if we know you at my house! What a fun journey it is to watch your family grow! Thanks for sharing it with us. My youngest is about the same age as Losiah, so he is dear to my heart.

  26. Carole Turner 7 April 2011 at 12:54 pm #

I believe my first visit here was to watch the video of you and heather picking him up from the orphanage. I bawled like a baby! We had just had an adoption fall thru, two weeks before the babu was born, and I was grieving. And we had also adopted our son Steele two years earlier so Adoption was very front and center in my mind.

My favorite post are on Heathers blog where she talks about attaching. I can so relate! Our son Abel (who we adopted two years ago from Ethiopia at age 6) took a long time to attach too. He’s older and has walls up so the process has been a lot of work but so worth it.

I’m way past ready to do it again. When are y’all gonna?

  27. Michelle 7 April 2011 at 1:02 pm #

Wasn’t around when you made the videos but became a Ragamuffin after watching them about two years ago! Cried like a baby when you guys got in the cab with Los after saying goodbye to the foster mother. Thank you for opening your heart and sharing in such a real way.

  28. Kimberly 7 April 2011 at 1:05 pm #

Was here! I remember watching these and crying happy tears.

  29. Anne Jackson 7 April 2011 at 1:50 pm #

    M.E.
I have a video of you on the plane :)

  30. Jen 7 April 2011 at 4:20 pm #

Me! Wow, has it been that long?!

  31. Grace Sue 7 April 2011 at 9:20 pm #

I was there! and cant believe its been 5 years! time flies dont they.

  32. Kimie 7 April 2011 at 11:20 pm #

I’ve been reading since then, & you & heather are the people who’ve sparked my heart for adoption. I cannot wait until the day comes when it’s my turn =)

  33. Fay 8 April 2011 at 12:00 am #

    Presente.

    Cried then, cried now.

  34. Angela 8 April 2011 at 2:11 am #

Wasn’t there at the start, but I enjoyed watching these videos very much! Los, you and Heather and your family inspire me.

Also…pizza and pickles? I just can’t get over that for some reason!

  35. abbyd 8 April 2011 at 2:41 am #

Found and watched your adoption videos on YouTube soon after beginning the process to adopt our son (I was also adopted through Holt). Met our little guy for the first time 4 weeks ago!

  36. Stephanie 8 April 2011 at 9:08 am #

VERY cool to see these… thanks for sharing… again. Oh, and nice choice of background music. Tyrone Wells is great!

  37. Albee 8 April 2011 at 1:41 pm #

    Come on…

  38. Connormcc 8 April 2011 at 2:43 pm #

Dude, I was reading way back then, your adoption story brought me to tears then, and again now…

Way back then I had written you and Heather letter to encourage you, but didn’t post it, because I thought it was maybe a little stalkerish and weird.

I love seeing your ongoing journey with Losiah, and the whole family, it is inspiring and encouraging to a young married guy…

So when are you coming to Ireland then? ha ha

  39. steph 8 April 2011 at 3:18 pm #

Me! My roommates in college used to make fun of me for staying up all night watching adoption videos and crying my eyes out.

  40. Jenny 9 April 2011 at 12:56 pm #

I wasn’t, but I went back and watched them when I first came to the site about a year ago… they choke me up every.single.time… :)

Been reading since your family-in-the-tunnel-photo-designed homepage (still your best design IMHO). No clue how I found you but it was before these vids.

    Here’s to four more years!

  42. Laura 10 April 2011 at 1:10 pm #

I started reading right before you went to get Loaiah. I remember following closely while you were in Korea.

  43. Blake 10 April 2011 at 5:54 pm #

I think this video you posted above was actually the first thing I ever saw of yours. I believe it was Scott Hodge that pointed me to your blog. Been around since.
