Insignificant Love
It sticks out like Nanny McPhee.
It hits my lips when I kiss her too hard.
It will cut you like a knife if you are not careful.
That tooth behind it is trying with all her might to join the Varsity Tooth Club but alas the old vet is hanging tough.
I absolutely LOVE this tooth on Seanna.
It makes me happy.
It is trivial.
But brings me joy.
What are the seemingly insignificant things that just make you happy?
Los

The sounds my three year old son and two year old daughter make when playing together, pure joy.
- My youngest’s (3 yrs) mispronunciations. Mad-guh-zeen = magazine
- The sound of happy baby chicks peeping in my laundry room.
- The smell of bread baking.
- Watching a movie on the couch with my hubby.
- My oldest hitting her first pitch at tball practice.
(I’ve actually started keeping track of these with my posterous account. I remember pictures better than words so I send these memories to my Joy List: http://thewabisabi.me/?page_id=966 )
Knowing that no matter what is going on I can always count on my little brother Nathaniel to give me the world’s BEST hug, right when I need it.
I love watching my 20 month old daughter pick at her toe jam… hehehe.
Sometimes when I walk out of church at night, the air smells like honey wheat bread. I don’t know where the bakery is, but it smells amazing.
Hefeweizens and Cubs baseball.
tomorrow our youngest (Jackson-11)plays his first full-field soccer match…no more babies in the hizzy…
the sun is out in the northwest and people are blinding me with their whiteness…
when my best friend texts me random commentary about her day. i love being included in her “everydayness” as much as possible, even from the opposite side of the country.
Lots of colored pens: http://twitpic.com/4ifd64
When I walk out of work late at night, and the air is really humid and smells like the ocean, even though I live nowhere near it.
Driving with the windows rolled down on a sunny day.
Air conditioning.
clean sheets…
when my dog rests her head on my leg and stares up at me…
silly, predictable routines that allow me to miss and be missed…
clean, tucked in sheets (at least on my side of the bed).
hearing the puglets snore (just not in the middle of the night)
a clean house (I’m beginning to sound OCD)
a job I GET to walk into every day that puts a smile on my face
eating with chopsticks
pho
and when my Gumpee posts things like this on his facebook even though HE has been out of full-time work for a year http://twitpic.com/4isyba
My dog’s ridiculousness makes me happy, even though I hate him most of the time
My little sister and her view of the world is pretty hilarious too. Happiness.
when my wife surprises me by buying a brand name from Aldi
awesome tooth!
drinking coffee from a mug.
our 4 month old “talking” and flirting, even if he’s supposed to be going to sleep.
a conversation with an old friend.
a clean house.
Coffee and Facebook in the early morning quiet, with my dogs at my feet. (That tooth is SO Nanny McPhee!)
Everyday my almost 4 year old comes to me and says, “Dad, you’re my best buddy.” Or the whines I get when I have to leave for work. “Daddy, just stay with me.”
