Steve Jobs Resigns. How Has Apple Changed The Way You Work, Live, And Play?
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Apple CEO Steve Jobs has resigned and will be replaced by former Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook, the company said late Wednesday. Jobs will stay on as Apple’s chairman.
So it has finally happened.
It’s as close to Armageddon as we have seen in our lifetimes…
Steve Jobs has resigned.
CRAZY!
I’d love to know how Apple as a software and hardware company has changed the way you have done things the past 10 years?
Three cheers for Steve!!!
HERE HERE HERE!
Now answer the question.
How has Steve Jobs and Apple changed the way you work, live, and play?
Los

my portable cd player used to jump all over the place when i went running… lots of scratched cds and not a very good listening experience.
thanks steve for working out a better way.
Well, I don’t own any Apple products. Once had an iPod but it barely worked (okay, that may have been due to the water bottle incident).
Apple has only affected the way I work, live and play through the people who imitated Apple and added a pinch of freedom to the mix, e.g. Windows, Android. Steve Jobs has done something amazing in creating an army of devoted followers – which is both a positive and negative thing.
I am a huge Apple fan, owning two macs and an iphone. Being a teacher and not able to get to my computer whenever I want, I can still stay connected to the world at large through text and emails that I can check periodically throughout the day. I love that my phone is my ipod and I can buy songs on it and listen to them after I buy them. I find myself being more creative with my Mac than on a PC especially when it comes to taking and editing pictures. I am so glad there is a Steve Jobs who could conceptualize a world free of PC’s.
Mac’s are PC’s though! A PC is just a Personal Computer… anything running linux, windows, OSX, or another distro is a PC.
How has Steve chaned the world? We now view Macs as a completely different device as if it is not a PC.
PC’s are for accountants and scientists. Macs are for creatives.
This was posted from my iPad. That’s the single device that’s made my life easier.
@Ian don’t be stupid, we all know that macs are personal computers. We also understand what people mean when they say Mac vs PC.
not a huge fan of Apple truth be told. The fruit or the company. I’ll give them this much – my first generation iPod nano has been a staple part of my running life for years (only cuz my Rio was bulky).
Thats it. That’s all I got. I never fell for any of the other overpriced, shiny, white products…
Apple made buying digitized music commonplace. Apple created an entire new way to listen to music with iPods, allowing you to carry your ENTIRE music library with you ANYWHERE.
I worked for Apple. All the Apple haters are amusing. Overpriced? I disagree. With electronics you get what you pay for.
The iPad speaks for itself. While I’m not a huge fan of the iPad the innovation and interest in the product speak for itself. Apple created an entirely new market with that product. That product changed how you watch movies, read books, surf the web and communicate.
Apple will be fine. I’m sure the development cycle is 5 maybe 10 years out in front.
I use an Apple computer every day, use my iPad when I travel, use my iPod almost every day.
And now I somehow have this superiority complex where people that still use a PC should be treated like dirt.
Other than brushing my teeth, I can’t think of a single thing his creations haven’t effected. Seriously.
The first iPod I ever saw was when I was in High School and I was amazed! Now I own an iPod (hardly use it now), iPhone (had the first one… paid too much!), iPad, MacBook, and iMac at the office. After naming all of these things i feel like i need an Apple intervention… I love Apple stuff.
It has made working easier, faster, and so much more enjoyable. On a PC things are just more difficult and not as awesome. So, Apple has changed how I work, play, communicate, etc.
Thank you Steve Jobs for reviving Apple and changing the playing field.
I converted to Mac 2 years ago and have never turned back. I just feel more creative using Apple products. They’re sleek, cool and get out of the way when I’m trying to write or get stuff done.
I love itunes! I don’t buy CD’s anymore.
AN itunes gift card makes my whole day WAY better!
Well, I write my blog on my mac. I got a degree writing essays on a Mac. My first computer was an iBook. I developed a large part of my relationship with my now-husband by writing emails back and forth (long distance relationship) on a mac. Macs were the computer you got when you wanted to do graphic design – so that’s what I got. My office has always used PCs, but I think the most revolutionary device is probably the iPhone. It’s a tiny computer! Tiny! Cute! And the fact that I have a camera on me whenever I have my phone… allows me to express myself. It’s kind of… the artist’s computer.
I am currently on a gateway surfing with safari!! haha
My fiance just got her first macbook pro and I too will be getting a macbook air. I can’t wait to finally get rid of the garbage i’ve always put up with.
I was a later convert, only switching to Apple about 2-3 years ago, but I got an iPhone 3GS on advice from my brother and haven’t looked back. My work computer is an HP Laptop, which is good enough, but i definitely prefer working on my macbook or ipad.
A side note, I’m glad I’m not the only one drinking the iKool-Aid. At first I thought I had a problem, but now it seems I’m in good company.
I also was a later convert. I’ve had my Macbook for two years now. And it’s just so easy to work on.
Just recently I did a video for a friend’s farewell party with imovie, using one of the themes included. It looked professional, Everybody loved it, and probably thought it took me forever to finish. Little do they know it’s only a matter of insert, copy and paste
Mac has changed the way that I do everything I do. It has simplified my life and my work. I am grateful for the technology that has been made simpler and easier to use.
Apple has spoiled me.
Now, I want every business to know their niche and knock it out the park, and I get annoyed when they stray.
I want advertising to be simple and to the point.
I almost expect that EVERYTHING will be intuitive and user-friendly. From software to baggage claims. (I am often disappointed.)
I have come to believe that sales people and help desk people should know what they’re talking about.
And I’m starting to hate buttons.
I still remember hearing about the iphone concept long before it was released from my dad who was an apple fan from the beginning. A phone, iPod, computer and camera in one? What?! It sounded ridiculous to me back then and I pictured a huge zach morris phone! Getting one has made life a little easier and made my purse a lot lighter. Also, it makes it easier for my dad to go Christmas shopping. I think his love language is apple products.
Apple has shaped the electronic world. Every product they put out is significantly better than something another corporation would put out.
Would you rather have an Mp3 Player or an iPod?
A Tablet or an iPad?
Droid or iPhone?
And a really significant one…. PC or Mac?
These questions are easy. If money was no object and you can choose between an Apple product, or another compeating brand you would be insane not to choose the Apple product.
Once I got my Mac, I couldn’t go back. Went through 3 HP’s and a Dell before I got my Macbook Pro. and I love my 160gb iPod classic. No telling how many Mp3 Players I went through before I got that.
Steve Jobs financed Pixar when it was a struggling new company. If not for him we might have never had Toy Story, UP, or Wall-E. And that would be sad!
Apple has changed technology as a whole. The apple products that I own have helped me in every aspect of my life. Being in college, my Macbook has been such a big factor in the way I study, research and use music and video apps just to name a few. I love how easy Apple products are to learn and how you can utilize the apps best to your own life.
