Uh, hello. Jesus. ;-) Ok, I just had to do that.

Now that it’s out of my system, the most “famous” person I know is… err…. now that I think of it. I really don’t know anyone like really famous. I’ve met tons of famous people but I don’t *know* them. I guess you would be a famous person I kind of “know” because I read your blog and have met you in person.

Yes, it is fine to consider that cheating.

    Bob Ritchie

Eddie Kirkland from North Point in Atlanta. My husband and I went to college together and Eddie honored us by singing at our wedding… of course that was all before he was a big dog at North Point!

Ah…making it someone we “know” versus someone we’ve met adds a whole new dimension to this question. If it’s that level, I’ll have to say Joe Case, former local meteorologist. If it’s just someone famous we met…and we can’t say you, Los…it’s probably one of the three Presidents I met during my days in news reporting.

    Lecrae and Derek Webb.

I was speeding with Lecrae and we got pulled over!! The cop knew Lecrae, and we got let off with just a warning!!!

      Let me clarify…
I was speeding…getting him back to the airport. We were late. But he made his flight.

Rikki Rockett, drummer for Poison. He (and his drum crew) built my current drumset and I’ve been to his house a few times. Really, really down to earth, nice guy. No rockstar attitude at all.

Los can I claim you since I met you once at a Drive conference?

If I’m honest, none. Let’s be real. I don’t “know” a famous person, as in know them personally.

I was at a Paul Baloche concert once, and he recognized a Tweet I’d mentioned him in… and he called me out from the stage… “Hey… aren’t you that Macho guy that tweeted me earlier?”

I have met a few others. I used to lead worship at a church Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh Steeler’s coach) attends.

But know… as in really know them? Can’t say any.

I’m sure we all have met someone that flaunts the “I know such-and-such” bit, only to realize they only hung out with them once.

Hey… I ate dinner with Brian and Jenn Johnson from Bethel Church while at NWLC this year. In reality, I was with the friend I was staying at, we were at the same table of 12, and Jenn said something to me at one point, and I took a picture of them.

    WOO HOO…

    I don’t know a famous person.

    (enter cheesy line)

except JESUS… but then again, I could probably get to know him more and more… so he’s not just that guy I tweet every once in a while.

All this when he was an up & coming songwriter…now look at him. We don’t stay in touch much, but definitely chat if we see each other at a venue, conference, or whatever.

I saw WWF star Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake at the Orange County Airport when I was a kid. I thought I had arrived. Too chicken to ask for an autograph.

William Drayton… aka Flavor Flav. He used to come into my place of employment 2-3 times a week back in 2004/2005. He would bring in his kids and hang out for a few hours at a time. I helped him purchase 2 homes in LA & was actually toying w/ the idea of being his PA at one point. Super nice guy!

This will sound dumb but the most famous person I know is a professional video gamer (mainly Call of Duty games) who goes by the gamer tag “Optic Predator.”Apparently he’s a pretty big deal. He’s a member of my youth group and makes twice what I do as his youth pastor. I think I should have played more video games!

I know David Coleman. He’s known as the Date Doctor, and more “famously” inspired the movie “Hitch.” No, he doesn’t look like Will Smith, but he CAN say that Will Smith played him in a movie.
