You forgot one more for your list of eleven.
11. Be there.
Love it!
#7 is a bit vague…
You forgot:
12. Love their mother visibly and passionately.
I cannot even begin to tell you how true that is, as a now fatherless young woman!
I disagree with #3. Everyone is different.
Seriously, though, the best memories of my dad are when we actually spent time together. It didn’t matter if all we were doing was watching TV together. I was just happy when he wasn’t back in his office or at work or taking a nap.
As a father who was to young to realize it at the time, and missed out on so much, this is so very true.
I’m leading worship at an event this coming week where the teaching’s sole focus is on the absentee father to this generation. This just inspired me even more as I prepare. Thanks Los, KC
I am finding a big difference between “being here” in body versus “being here” in heart and mind.
Thanks for the reminder. I believe this is another message in which God is trying to get my attention.
From one who’s father left while I was still in the womb: AMEN
Excellent. Reminds me of this blog I wrote the other day about showing up:

I wish my father had understood the importance of this while I was growing up. Or that he would realize it’s not too late and start being there for me now. Thankful my Heavenly Father is always there for me!
Go see the movie Courageous!! it’s a WOW movie that talks just about this!!!
