Stop Living In That Safe Song

This very well could be on my top 5 favorite movie scenes of all time.
Take a listen…

Now stop living in that safe song you are singing.
The normal one.
Start living the soul ripping song you were meant to sing.
It’s better that way.

Most inspiring thing I heard all day. I’m going home after work to write my song and sing my guts out about it.

That was a seriously powerful movie. I love that scene…if you don’t believe what you’re doing then there’s no point to doing it.

    I needed that reminder today…

Someone has been having to hit me over the head with that message for a few months now.

Monday I put in notice at my job. I am a newlywed, and until recently my job was a majority of our income…so I’m pretty scared.

But everything I’ve been feeling, hearing, doing and reading keeps telling me it was what I had to do. My position changed 3 times the last 3 months, each time making my daily life at work more and more miserable. My husband got a good full time job with excellent benefits that matches what I am making now, meaning we could still survive if I found any part time job (what he was working before). And I keep thinking about what I would do if I had more time, if I didn’t have the emotional and mental stress of my current job.

I don’t know what the next step is, but I know that walking out of that office for the last time on December 2nd is exactly what God wants me to do.

Anybody got a dream job or low stress part time job for a Religion and the Arts major/Artist in the Spring Hill/Franklin/Nashville TN area? LOL

About a year ago, God told me, “Live YOU.” ‘Cause only I can. It’s been a wild ride!

i love this scene too. The first time I “Walk the Line”,I stopped the movie and pressed rewind a hundred or so times so I could transcribe it line for line. There is so much wisdom in what was said.

Yeah That is one of my top 5 scenes in any movie also.. I love the look in his face when the producer is talking about the one song. It’s like he knows down in his gut what that song is, but he also knows hes gotta come up with the balls to sing it. Another life lesson.. even if you know the song, you gotta have the balls (Guts for the laidies) to sing it.

And then Jesus came upon his disciples and said, “What’s this shit I’m hearing about a human sacrifice!!? What kind of Neanderthal bullshit is that!!? What are we, living in the fucking Stone Age!!?
Blood sacrifice!!!!! Are you fucking kidding me!!!?”

And his disciples responded, “Umm, what choo talkin bout, Willis?”
