So at Buckhead Church we pride ourselves in giving Jesus our best. In every beat of our heart.
Yet sometimes our best comes in the most unrehearsed of moments. Take this past Sunday for example. Simon was to be baptized.
We have all baptiseees give their testimony on video before they are baptized.
That way they can get across the message of hope Christ has placed in them clearly.
Simon took 2 DAYS to film his 2 minute video.
He was mortified. Nervous is an understatement.
Time came to show the video.
Nothing…
Then it played…
No audio…
Then it played again…
Audio this time, but no video…
The crowd was beginning to mumble…
Then video but no audio…
You get the drift.
Luckily our pastor Jeff Henderson was baptizing him and he was money.
Jeff waded through the uncomfertableneds of 3000 pairs of eyes staring at them and moved on with…
“Well Simon, I know your story…”
So in the middle of all the chaos somebody yells from the crowd at about 1:02 in the video…
“TELL US YOUR STORY!!!”
And the rest was history…

Oh. And I’m ready for some new fresh banners.
So this is nothing but bragging.
Amber Blossom and I’m sure some swanky designer pimped out our upper green room before I even got this gig / pastoral calling .

Our volunteers have a place on Sundays to hang and feel like they are rock stars for a moment.
Sit back. Watch the LCD. Eat their Moe’s.
I LOVE the design of this room and the attention to detail.
We have another green room downstairs that is where we serve the food and it is about the same size.
With the 2 green rooms we can comfortably seat all our Sunday SPD volunteers and musicians.

This is a video we shot this last week at Andrews Upstairs in Buckhead.
The reason for us shooting at the bar will be revealed this week at our Night of Worship.
I am pumped about Thursday Night and worshipping with our church but am just as excited to reveal what we are doing sitting at the bar of Andrews Upstairs.
Remember. If you are in Atlanta, feel free to come worship with us at the Night of Worship at Buckhead Church this Thursday night at 7:30.

What you see above is our Night Of Worship quip design.
Kaye Woods did most of the design and Josh (see post below, congrats) watched her do it.
I like the feel of where the design went.
It actually is matching the feel of the music that night.
Eddie Kirkland, Casey Darnell, and Myself will be leading that night. If you are in Atlanta, you won’t want to miss a night focused completely on HIM!!!

This is the 20th anniversary edition of Creative Chaos.
Will somebody throw it a freaking party please?!

So I’m going way back here…
The Intersect Project is our way of serving the community of Atlanta. This project launched almost two years ago from the Buckhead campus. Through http://www.theintersectproject.org/ small groups can choose from a variety of service projects and sign up online.

Before the original launch of this project the Groups department asked a few of us to make a video for the launch of Intersect. Well after a lot of meetings, writing, shooting and editing. This is what we came up with. Enjoy!

My entry this week in our planning board.
We have 4 boards that look like this with 2 Sundays attatched to each.
At the top we have the Date.
Then the service elements.
They are all on post cards so that we can easily remove, change, crumble, throw any element we would like to at any time.
This seems like the easiest idea in the world yet it is absolutely essential to our planning process. It makes the meetings flow much better and best yet…
They can each be taken off and taken to another location if we would like to meet somewhere else.

Simple yet Solid.
That is how I like to plan.
